Attended this place recently with a group of friends prior to seeing a show at the opera house. We had been advised by other friends in our social circle to stay clear of, but as it was close to our accommodation and we loved the look of the inside from social media, we do truly wish we took the advice from our social network and not attended. The food and bar service was fantastic, the security well that is the issue . We were greeted and not friendly by as we decided to call him a steroid angered young man. Asked us our intentions and advised the group of us to go back where we came from, we enquired whether there was an issue and he informed our group we where to intoxicated to enter the premises. This is where the story gets better , we are a group of Christians who don’t consume alcohol and do not participate in consuming alcohol, one of the other gentlemen with us informed the very angered young man of this and requested management , we where then greeted by a older more civilised man who allowed us to enter . Shocked by the greeting we thought and agreed the angry troll on the door was just doing his job . We found a nice area to sit and went to order from the menu, upon ordering we where asked by another angry security troll that two of the females in our group had to leave due to there intoxication level, again we had the manger intervene and we proceeded to enjoy the food service. We decided that we would not stay much longer and decided and even joked about how we felt like prisoners in general population. Upon leaving the angry young troll Advise our group we would not enter into any other establishment in the area . Once gain we asked if there was something triggering him to believe any of us were causing any issues , we where then advise it was due to our intoxication level . We asked him politely what level or percentage of alcohol is served in a lemon lime bitters or house water ? Recommendations is not to attempt to attend this establishment unless the guards from Alcatraz are removed . This all took place fyi at 6pm- 7pm and the staff at the nearby hotel where we stayed even advised they to receive bad reviews from other patrons who have attempted to visit and all the same verdict , the security staff are overboard. It’s a shame as the establishment and the bar and food staff were lovely , respectful security staff and this place would be fantastic to visit . We would not recommend or even attempt to attend again if we were visiting...

Title: A Disastrous Dining Experience

Review:

I recently had the misfortune of dining at the Art house hotel.

Firstly, I ordered the duck breast salad, hoping for a flavorful and well-cooked dish. However, to my dismay, the duck breast was severely undercooked. It was raw in the middle, making it practically inedible. I couldn't believe that such a basic culinary mistake could occur in a supposedly reputable restaurant.

If that wasn't enough, our order for sake was met with utter incompetence. We placed the order, only to be informed just two minutes later that they couldn't find it. It was a clear indication of poor organization and lack of attention to detail on the part of the staff. This incident not only wasted our time but also left us feeling frustrated and let down.

As if these issues weren't bad enough, the final blow came when we discovered a metal scourer inside the Singapore noodles. This not only posed a serious health risk but also highlighted a severe lack of hygiene and quality control in the kitchen. It's absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant to serve food that contains foreign objects like this.

Overall, my experience at the Arthouse hotel was abysmal. The combination of undercooked food, disorganized service, and the presence of a metal scourer in the food left me questioning how this establishment is still in business. It is evident that there are serious issues with the kitchen operations, staff training, and quality control.

I strongly advise anyone considering dining at [Restaurant Name] to think twice before doing so. With such glaring flaws in their food preparation and service, it's hard to imagine how they can maintain a loyal customer base. Save your money and your taste buds for a restaurant that takes pride in delivering a quality dining experience, as this one clearly...

I recently found this venue whilst looking for somewhere to have a glass of wine with some friends. I have had a mixed experience here. It does not appear to be related to the time of day but to the staff behind the bar. The venue itself is really interesting artistic industrial or something like that. Older building, high ceilings, good fixtures and obviously a lot of design excellence and expenditure. I specifically enjoy the booths / banquettes at the side as it allows for more interesting and intimate conversations where you don’t really want to shout out your news to your friends. Or maybe you do? But the couple of dishes I have had are small to medium, slightly better preparation than many pubs and quick, even when busy. On a recent visit, my female friend went off to bar to chat about wines so she could make a choice. The male bar tender was just not interested and just tossed the wine list over to her and walked off.Suggested she just try the house white? Not the type of service that was usual for this place. Other times I have been here, most of the bar staff and servers have been friendly, able to generate smiles and be engaging. All the ladies are highly well presented and attractive. So overall, I would recommend the bar but be aware that some staff should not really be in hospitality. Time wise, it can get really noisy for the after work crowd and finding a table is difficult. If you have hearing issues, give it a miss or just hit the place at 3 to 4 pm, find your table and get yourself...

What a great experience. Drink beer and draw naked people. There is no final exam, take your charcoal and your pad and enjoy the ambience. Last time I checked it was $7.00 for entry every Monday night from 6pm until 9:30pm (approx). Not being an art school graduate my first life drawing experience was awkward in the sense that I was self conscious in regards to my life drawing ability. It doesn’t matter. Any level, any experience or zero experience you find a seat, but a beer and simply enjoy creating a personal life drawing catalogue. I think it’s a great idea for a second Tinder date. It opens up the conversation and if you go with a date match I think it gives you the upper hand in the unique dating stakes. This review is preciously about the Art House hotel on Pitt Street Sydney not the hotel as a whole. Though I have had enough beers at the Art House Hotel to recommend it as a worthy drinking hole. The building that the Art House Hotel resides has a great history in Sydney. The building was in the early days of the 20th century as a centre for the understanding of Australia’s First Nation Peoples. If in Sydney make sure you experience the Monday night life drawing. Experience public nudity (life drawing) create and drink beer. Awesome.

This place is super cool Built in 1836 this heritage listed property boats of three levels of restaurants and bars. It is an old art school renovated over the years to a super cool place with wonderful ambience and atmosphere. Frequented by office workers and tradies after work who gather here to chill after hours. It is also open through the day where many a lunch is had Whether you’re eating alone or with a friend or with a larger group this place caters for all They offer a pub style menu with good food served albeit fast food. The bar is extensive with a wide range of drinks on offer including juices, beers from many parts of the world and cocktails galore! Colours are cool with a nice range of artwork displayed around the walls. Ceilings are very high and very ornate reflecting a world from yesteryear worth recognising. So when you’re in the city take a trip to this pub located just above town hall train station you take the Galleries exit to Pitt st and there you’ll find The Arthouse Hotel. Have fun and just chill with family or friends!!
