Tried Pepper Seed twice. First time on a Thursday night, thought it would be busy but it was merely half full.

The Money Bags tasted fine but not special. The Hung Lay Curry was a standout, a really exciting dish with slow cooked beef and refreshing flavours. Highly recommended! However we didn’t like the Lucky Ducky. The red curry was too creamy and quite bland for a curry dish. The duck Maryland was served whole made it very difficult to break apart in the bowl and shared. If you were not careful the duck leg was going to fly away! There wasn’t a lot of meat on the bones so it’s hardly enough for two, this made it a very expensive dish. The flavour of the duck was also not great. A really mixed feeling about this place.

Thought we would give it another go as the rest of the menu looked interesting.

The second time we come back on a Saturday but it was even quieter than the first time as the restaurant was only a quarter filled.

We had the Hung Lay Curry again and it was great. Unfortunately the rest of the dishes we tried didn’t impress us. This time we had Egg Net, Betel Leaves with Smoked Salmon, Choo Chee Whole Burramundi and Gang Garee. All of them tasted ordinary and underwhelming. The Burramundi tasted really muddy and unpleasant. It wasn’t very crispy either which was really disappointing! The Gang Garee was just slightly better and didn’t reward a second return.

We also noticed both visits the staff were not very happy nor friendly. All of them had blank faces and didn’t come around to check the table. They basically just took orders and delivered food to the table and nothing else. When we called them for service they were not enthusiastic. That was strange and odd to see in a Thai restaurant especially when they were not that busy.

Oh well, at least we have given this another try. If not the Hung Lay Curry they would get...

The management of this place is poor to say the least. I went at 1230 lunch time rush had to line up for 15 minutes no problem. They have a pre made selection of food for you to choose from but unfortunately all ready everything sold out. Wait what there's is about 30 people behind me on there lunch breaks that just want to grab something quick to eat. I don't have the luxury of waiting for them to cook something for me. Why don't they plan to cook much more food and then keep it in the massive pots they have in the kitchen. Planning is kinda key when you have the head quarters of the Commonwealth bank directly above you with 3000 employees wanting to grab food when they get 30 minutes for a break.

My suggestion is put the massive pots in the kitchen to use double or triple the amount of food like green curry or beef Curry actually curry is the kinda food that improves with time so there's no excuse to run out of food at 1230.

These are the same cafe owners that cried during COVID lockdowns that their businesses were impacted and they lost revenue, yet when they get busy, they couldn't care less about customers.

My suggestion to anyone wanting to get Thai food and you don't want to waste your lunch break waiting in line to get told no more food is insteadis walk to yummy yai Thai food restaurant at 45/72 Botany Rd, Alexandria NSW 2015...

a secluded thai restaurant that i never would have found intentionally and i'm super glad i did here. it's a gorgeous looking place with delicious and well priced food, along with occasional deals and super friendly, helpful staff. the food here was fantastic, and i would love to come back again at some point. we had the peking duck pancakes, moon light soft shell crab, and one of their specialty chicken fried rice variants if i recall. it took about 15 minutes for all the food to arrive and i couldn't wait to dig in. i was a little skeptical about the soft shell crab at first but boy was it the most delicious dish i've had in such a long time. i don't know how they did it but the flavours are incorporated so well that one does not overtake the other and everything just.. compliments. the peking duck pancakes were also great, and made me wish there were much more (4 pieces total). it arrived first so we devoured the heck out of it. the fried rice was average at best, i was confused at first when we received it since it was nothing like i expected but it was still alright. it was a little bland when compared to the crab for sure, though it was still good to have on its own. we tookaway what we couldnt finish, and left eventually. i'm excited and hopeful for the next visit to try more new things...

Overpriced and MSG-laden food. The people giving this place 5-stars probably think a Bacon and Lettuce sandwich on white bread is gourmet lunch. Ordered the 'Prawns and Calamari' dish, which was appx $22. The dish only had 4 Prawns, and appx 3 small cut squares of a squid. I also ordered a side of Fried Rice. I could see chuncks if the steamed rice still white, it was extremely salty and riddled with MSG. All up costed me around $32. These are the same cafe owners that cried during COVID lockdowns that their businesses were impacted and they lost revenue, yet when they get busy, they couldn't care less about customers.
