Smack bang in the middle of Bondi Beach, so a wonderful place to stop for food and drink and enjoy the view. There's plenty of seating at the front and it has a nice outside seating area at the rear, which offers a little more protection from the wind (when it's windy, obviously). Staff are very attentive to clearing plates quickly, as the local birdlife are quite switched on to a potential smorgasbord. The birds are not a nuisance and it's nice to hear their birdsong as you eat, and no, I'm not talking about the cacophonic yelling from seagulls here. As the establishment is in prime territory, there would be temptation for prices to be set at a premium, but it's prices are quite reasonable. Staff appear to be English speaking foreigners, and I had no issues with ordering or service.
As for the food - I visited with family (hen pecked grumpy husband, wife and two pizza/burger afficianados in disguise as teenagers) after a walk along the beach and the food was very good - fish 'n' chips, chicken schnitzel burger and calamari and chips. The portions were of a good size and cooked well. Someone must have caught the Kraken of calamari,.as the squid rings were very chunky and lovely to eat - soft and tender, which is easy to.get wrong.
There's a good selection of beer on tap, which was influencing in our decision to stop there for lunch.

The menu says "All our fish (salmon, barramundi and snapper) is 100%wild caught and sustainable.Well owners, you simply cannot purchase in Australia wild caught Atlantic salmon, it doesn't exist; unless it is imported from Canada or Alaska -not cheap! You are using Atlantic salmon most probably from a fish farm in Tasmania. And whether this is a sustainable practice is debatable; given the impact aquaculture has on local environs. Barramundi in Australia is also farmed unless it comes from Indonesia, which is also unlikely. Stop lying to tourists. Your fish is not wild caught. As for the snapper I ate, I'd not seen a snapper that shape in my decades of eating fish. Stop the lies. I think it's called greenwashing - wanting to appease the crowds to contemporary concerns...

Golden crispy calamari rings, thick-cut chips, and a simple side of mayo + lemonโnothing fancy, just solid comfort food. The portion was bigger than I expected, and everything was hot, crunchy, and not too greasy.
Then came the real beach moment: I grabbed a cone of colorful rainbow gelato, found a spot by the edge, and just sat there with the view of Bondi Beach stretched out in front of me. Good food, warm sun, salty breeze?
