Amazing surprise.

I was expecting a cross between a simple, earthy & tasty tray of veggies, carbs & proteins à la Bill Crews in Ashfield, revamped like a Lentil As Anything groovy bohemian café like there are so many around town.

And that would have been already beautiful and made extremely happy!

But I discovered a proud fine-dining casual sophisticated establishment, with superb cuisine and presentation, sleek modern design, a totally professional setting, and to offset this and infuse the OzHarvest spirit of generosity, the warm human touch of a great floor staff, who are not hospitality professionals but professionals of the priceless Art-of-Making-You-Feel-Good-&-Welcome!

As for the price, paying guests at night offer with themselves for only $120, not only a great dining & feel-food experience, but the capacity to offer the very same experience to 5 great people who, otherwise, have no choice but to prioritise other immediate goals and expenses. In...

What an amazing place! If you haven't already, check out the OzHarvest Reffetorio. They feed delicious three course meals all made from rescued food to people doing it tough. On Thursday evenings you can pay to eat there.

The food was delicious, creative and beautifully presented. The food is predominantly vegetarian and they cater well for vegans and other dietary requirements. The service (all volunteers) was excellent. The restaurant is a really lovely space. It's great to know you're contributing to such a worthy purpose while enjoying a stunning meal....

The overpaid staff often treat their volunteers disappointingly, with an almost haughty or supercilious disdain evident in their spoken or tacit interactions.

The volunteers are all lovely, caring individuals without which this place would be unable to function.

The booking process is tedious and requires a major rethink. It deters the impoverished from using this resource; which is fast becoming a freebie for those with far more money than the starving (once welcome) clientele who are stranded on the footpath with no agency to...
