I was recommended by a friend to join Alma and try out their On2 classes. Artia, the Alma director and an amazing, humble, passionate instructor has his own approach of teaching; systematic, focused yet collective oriented, and applies elements of fun and full of expressions! I feel more confident after every class I attend.
The teacher assistance, Alessia is also a wonderful, kind and talented dancer who assists in the class. They both are helpful during classes and wants the best in all of us. Also, If you have questions or are in doubt of your movements, theyâre both open to answering your questions!
Decided to stay back for their body movement technique and jam sessions assisted with another lovely and talented instructor, Dani. Arti and Dani have their unique styling, and provide two different perspectives and lots of options for shines! They also break down every movement, so for newbies like me, can catch up.
Body movement technique is a smooth transition of understanding particular moves, styling, balance and rhythm which will helps us to apply all of that in their jam sessions after! Donât get me started with their jam session⌠Oh my, you cannot miss their JAM SESSIONS! Itâs sooo fun! For anyone starting off like me, you will definitely be pushed out of your comfort zone but for the good!
Highly recommended dance school to check out and explore your salsa and other fusion dance spices :)...
Read moreIn the month or two I have taken classes here, my experience has been pretty good. I think this is the most I have improved in Salsa in very long time, irrespective of the fact that I am learning on2.
I like the fact that shines are pushed harder to the students rather than promoted as something âextraâ to the partner work component.
Additionally, I like the fact that the amount of classes a beginner in path 1 can take is limited to 2 (1 for each of shines and partner work). It prevents people from overloading themselves with content, and encourages people to âdigestâ the few moves they learned over the week, rather than taking multiple classes, try to memorise all the moves, and then forgetting them all come next week.
Lastly, I like the fact the structure of the classes are enforced in Alma. From what I have seen over the videos of path 2 classes, there doesnât seem to be people from path 1, who jumped to path 2 without being granted permission. I recognise a few people from the clips of path 2 classes, and know they are highly skilled dancers.
Personally I think itâs the best run dance school I have attended when it comes to disseminating skills and maintaining a high degree of quality control of...
Read moreAlma dance school has been a fantastic experience in my dance journey. For anyone that wishes to continue their dance journey and isn't too sure whether they want to learn on2. Trust me, I can't recommend it enough. I'll recommended it to anyone hands down on the spot. The 8 week on2 conversion course gave me the confidence to finally make the switch over with the support and guidance of Arti. (Much appreciated mate).
The accelerator program has been a fantastic and challenging experience. A big thank you Arti's assistant team (Alessia, Dani, Farya) have all been very humble, energetic and they all bring the excellent vibes for all classes. (Well done to all of you, keep it up!). Arti's approach in teaching is definitely refreshing to see, especially in Sydney. You can definitely see the passion he has to help coach people to become heir best self regardless of...
