Shepherd's - The pie was purchased on the 29th of June, in a transaction that came to a total value of $36.40. We kept the second pie that was purchased and took a photo. I have included an image of it in this review. You can see quite clearly that it is not a gluten free pie.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, POISONED BY A PIE!! My recent experience at Shephard's was a disaster. I asked the young girl at the counter if she had any gluten free pies. She assumed me they were in stock after checking and said that only the curried one was available. I ordered two, she bagged them up and upon returning home, my daughter unwrapped one and cooked it in the oven for me. I consumed the pie and after an hour or so, suffered a severe coeliac attack that had me throwing up for around three hours. My daughter rummaged through the bin to check the packaging, and sure enough, the pie was NOT gluten free. It was a vegan pie! Thanks a lot Shepherd's! It appears people's serious dietary requirements might not be as high on your list of important things, as they are in many other establishments. The expensive nature of the pies, poor service communication and the violent attack I had made for an awful weekend. Thanks a...
Read moreShepherdsbake Castle Hill is a disaster! The staff are arrogant, rude and clearly have no idea how to run a business. No clear signage, no organisation and the coffee that tastes like dirty warm water! You’d get better service and coffee at a petrol station.
Update after the business’s response:
Thanks for the essay! it nearly distracted me from the rude service, confusing signage and that awful coffee! Instead of taking responsibility, you attack customers and act like you’re above criticism. I’m glad you’re proud of your 50 kg of coffee a week, maybe focus a little more on how it’s actually served. Rolling eyes at customers and serving watered-down coffee doesn’t scream “high-quality” or “professional.” If you truly valued feedback, you’d focus on improving the service and quality, not defending the issues (and that applies to all the other one-star reviews as well). When you spend more energy arguing than improving, it explains everything — the service, the coffee and the one star. Good luck with all those “positive reviews” you mentioned…...
Read moreWhen they opened, they made decent breads and pastries. Since then, it only got worst. Calling themselves Artisan while they make very industrial products. I know a lot about bread and pastry, you cannot fool me. You can get away in western Sydney, due to lack of competition and knowledge.
Yesterday, I bought the crusty Italian sourdough. It was one of the worst industrial bread I ever had. Wonder why they call it crusty, when the outside of bread is so soft.
Also, I had the almost croissant. I asked to have it fresh and not warm up as pastry shouldn't be warm-up. What a mistake. They warm it up, to hide the poor quality. It was obviously made previous days and was the worst almond croissant ever. Paid $7.5 for it, I felt abused.
Coles, next door does Coles Finest sourdough by Laurent. They also make almond croissants. They are cheaper and 10 times better. It is a sad world when supermarkets are proposing better products than...
