I visited the Subway store in Auburn Redyard, Sydney, on November 17, 2025, between 12:20 p.m. and 12:29 p.m., and was appalled by the poor service provided by the store assistant, Aaru. Her attitude was far from what is expected in the service industry.
Aaru was impatient, rude, and carried a bad attitude throughout our interaction. She didn’t even hand over tissues and served us with an unpleasant facial expression, making it clear she had no intention of delivering a positive customer experience.
The store wasn’t busy at the time, so there was no reason for her behavior. There was another staff member who was polite and professional, which made Aaru's conduct stand out even more. It seemed as though she treated people differently based on their appearance, which is completely unacceptable.
Subway is a respected brand, but experiences like this make me question its hiring and training practices. Store assistants should greet customers with a smile, offer options, and create a welcoming atmosphere, none of which Aaru did. If she cannot meet these basic expectations, she does not belong in the service industry.
I strongly recommend the store owner review the CCTV footage from the mentioned time to witness Aaru’s behavior firsthand. Additionally, Subway should invest in better personality training for its employees to prevent such situations from recurring.
This experience was disappointing and unacceptable, and I hope Subway takes this feedback seriously to maintain its reputation and standards in...
Read moreWent there on a Thursday night 17th October 2024 at 8.45pm, there was two of us we where served by a girl who made one sandwich but when my partner went to order hers the girl said that she cannot make the second one as she has to catch the bus. I was shocked at this response very very unprofessiona and extremely bad customer service plus there was still fifteen minute's left until close. So naturally I said to the girl that I didn't want just one but of course two as there was two of us. The looked at me as if I had done something wrong as if I was the rude one and said but I've already made this. I said if you can't make two then I don't want just one and walked out. Upon leaving I said to her may God bless you and i hope you don't miss the bus. Hopefully her manager reads this and was a stern word to her about professionalism and customer service and to not close the store ten minutes early so she can catch the bus as busses...
Read moreWent there on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered veggie delight with avo. Usually avocado is the first thing you put after you toast the subway. But she tried to play smart by firstly putting all the veggies and asking me which sauce I need so that I don't notice the avocado. Luckily I noticed that she didn't put avocado, then I asked her about the avocado, she then put it. She also tried to up sell a lot, like extra cheese, which no other subway does unless you ask for extra cheese. There was one teenager before me who ordered a subway and she asked him single cheese or double cheese. The boy looked confused at first and then ordered double without knowing that he would be paying extra. This behaviour is totally unacceptable from subway employees in Australia. Will never visit this store again. Nearby subway stores are much better and don't cheat...
