Worst experience in Burwood. Waited 40mins for a table which is fine, as they told us when we arrived. But when we came in and sat down, the guys told us that we have to wait another half hour before they can serve dishes except for cold dishes and drinks. That’s already disappointing coz that means we had to wait a total one hour or so before we can have our dinner. It would be nice if they had told us that at the beginning too. but it was late already and we thought that might be alright as we can prob have cold dishes first for about 30 40 mins and then we can have the others. However, after about 50 mins, we still didn’t get anything else so we asked the staff to check for us. No response. Another 10 mins we asked again and wanted to see how much longer we had to wait. And was told they didn’t even started to cook the other dishes. But during that whole time, delivery guys kept coming to pick up, so I assume they don’t give sht to dine in customers. So at 9pm, our family including kids only had two cold dishes and some tap water. That’s totally ridiculous that they put delivery orders over walk-in customers. If you don’t have enough people, cut down your online orders, and serve dine-in people, instead of seating them with their tables empty for hours. Otherwise, why not shut your restaurant and rent a kitchen to fulfil your online orders.

Read moreDecently decorated, popular Sichuan style restaurant in Burwood. Quite busy in the evenings and had to wait about 15mins to get in. Food is the focal point here so expect straight to the point service. Charging $2.5/bowl of rice is annoying but not much you can do about that in Sydney
Sichuan chilli oil chicken Flavour: A, 7/10. Passable spiciness but definitely lacking the sesame and peanut flavours that are iconic Texture: C, 5/10. Probably the worst cooked chicken I've had. The meat was hard and chewy whilst the skin was a little crunchy? Value: B, 6/10. $15 is not ideal. Overall: B, 6/10. Go to Spicy joint if you want a proper cold chilli chicken
Spicy boiled beef Flavour: S, 8/10. Spicy and a bit mala. Pretty good Texture: S+, 8.5/10. Beef here was actually tender but a bit fatty which was good Value: A, 7/10, $25 is quite expensive though slightly more acceptable Overall: S, 8/10. Decent dish
Sour radish seafood stew Broth: A, 7/10. Quite rich and umami but also quite sour. A bit too much for my liking but can definitely see that it could be very good Fish: S+, 8.5/10. Actually quite good. Was falling apart as we tried to take it out of the pot. Very tender. Value: A+, 7.5/10. $39 if you pay in cash. Honestly not bad for a whole fish and hotpot. Probably could have just ordered this alone with...
Read moreMissus said wanna try out the place since we really have no idea what to have for a quick dinner. Typical Chinese restaurant as you can see lots of stocks of chemicals, mops and cleaning utensils are keep in the disable washroom. It is suppose to be clear of all those for it is a washroom for disable which wheelchairs are included. We were the one and only customers around since we drop in on an early evening. Ambience is nice with a large teddy sitting in front on the counter top window. Decorative is cosy and relaxing soft. Missus ordered the spicy preserved tofu, pig ear and triple for me as I love those but surprisingly it doesn’t turn out as I expected because it is Sichuan style instead of my normal canton style. It is dry and cold with dried ground chilli as dipping. Not really fancy of that though but it is something new to me. Missus also get the kung pao chicken rice pot. My goodness it is good... too bad the portion is small only get few bites. The spicy pork wonton is so so only. Had a better tastier than this. Too bad the wonton skin is too thick and fillings are too little. In general it’s not a bad place but could have been better with such a location...
