The place is beautiful. Happy hour drinks appear cheaper than normal. However any crown member discounts don't apply. And if there is a group size over 9 there is also an additional 10% service charge. This would be acceptable if the service was any good. But no it wasn't. Actually it was borderline rude. Being a bar, and having large groups come and go. You would expect that over the evening there would be several orders placed even if the bill cannot be split. What bar complains when you order more drinks right. But no, we were told off by a male waiter that we should of ordered everything in one go for a group of 17 people that arrived at different times. Were some of us meant to sit there thirsty for an hour whilst waiting for others. Or are we supposed to have 3 drinks sitting in front of us at the same time. That aside. The service was also extremely slow. One of my drinks took over one hour to arrive. Food that is not on the happy hour menu is ridiculously expensive for very small sizes and nothing too special. Aside Epicurean, and Oncore and I am finding the standards at the crown restaurants rapidly declining in the past 2 years. There are many better places to go in sydney now.

I think Area manager or the owner of this place should know about this. As I am who have been in this kind of industry for long time, working, running and owning the business, I never expected to get such a bad attitude of service especially from high position as supervisor. I and my friend were new customers here, we booked and we were really excited to visit, but we actually didnt notice that the shop will not serve FOODs on Sunday and Monday, thats why we asked if you guys dont serve foods for today.. and you know what the supervisor replied?? 😀 “Oh Sun and Mon we dont serve foods DON’T YOU KNOW THAT?, you didnt check before you booked!!?” OMGGGGGG 🫢 Are you running the business or closing it down? If the answer is running still and wanna see it grow than I suggest PLEASE DO something about it. NO SERVICE MIND, NO WELCOME SMILE, NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL! So how can you sell your products? And how can you get back the customers to be regular customers or to suggest their friends to visit???.. 😅 -the environment was great.. -Desserts and drinks were okay.. -Service?? NOT RECOMMENCED 😬

beautiful tea house concept interior - plush velvet and birdcage seating 🕊️ came for the $40 dessert tasting set menu - comes with 1 cocktail, 1 tea, and 3 desserts pp (super worth it 🥳) cocktails 🍸 5/5 ✨ Jade sour - fantastic balanced drink of gin, matcha, lemon, although the jasmine tea was too subtle to taste 🥰 ✨ Campfire 🔥 - delicious alcoholic hot choco of rum and Bailey's, where u can roast a mini marshmallow skewer 🍡 🤩 desserts (in order of enjoyment) 4/5 ✨ white rabbit 🐇- cute design, nice combo of white choc x berry on a biscuit base ✨ chrysanthemum & osmanthus pudding - very subtle flavours, gelatinous and shaped like a raindrop cake 🌧️ ✨ yoghurt marshmallow mousse - interesting 🥥 and yuzu elements, for those that enjoy yoghurt desserts tea 🍵4/5 ✨ pu'er - woody earthy notes ✨ jasmine - blooming flower in the tea pot, tasted expensive 🫰 service was 👍

I was so looking forward to high tea however left disappointed for the price point and location. Food was great, something different however that's as far as the positives went. We booked the terrace however at that time of day the sun is shining direct in your eyes and I spent the whole time with my back to the view to avoid being blinded by the sun even with sunnies on! There was also wind and there is no protection.. they have blankets out for people. One lady having tea in a shaded area even had to turn around and faced the window .. how ridiculous to have to do that when part of the experience should be the view. I ordered the hightea with vintage veuve - it was obvious the bottle had been open a while. If you are going to charge $38 per glass on your drinks menu make sure you serve a fresh glass. I sent this back for replacement and had to follow up with the waitress to have the glass served again 10 minutes later. I'm quite sure it had just sat on the bar the whole time. Ordered english breakfast tea to finish.. a teabag in a 2-3 cup pot! was served weak and even after waiting 5 minutes to steep was just as weak. You are called the teahouse , you should know how to serve tea. The one positive is my friend had coffee and enjoyed that. The chair height is a lot higher than the coffee tables and so you are bending over to access your high tea/drinks, making a very uncomfortable dining experience.

If you go to try the tea , don't book the terrace .

I really wanted to enjoy my high tea and it's sitting at a premium price point but I won't...

In terms of value for money, this place is a rip off. I don’t mind paying for good food and service, sadly the tea house failed on both fronts. The food was just “okay” not worth the $659 bill for my family of 2 adults 2 kids. The service was bad. We ordered the $118 high tea and wanted mocktails, the lady advised we should get the cocktail menu for 128 as it includes mocktails, I specifically asked “does it still include the tea and coffee” I was told yes. We waited one hour for our food, the waitress apologised saying the kitchen was busy (it was not busy in the restaurant at all) We wanted to order coffee but couldn’t find a staff member so I went to the front counter, I was told we would have to pay extra for coffee. I explained the waitress assured us it was included in our package and was told “ she must have made a mistake” mistakes happen but I wouldn’t have ordered that way had I have known, it’s a high tea and I really wanted the tea. any good restaurant would make good on their word, it’s only two coffees, it’s the restaurants mistake they should honour what they said. So we paid the extra for the coffee. finally, we paid the bill and got slogged an additional $60 Sunday charge. This wasn’t made clear to us when we booked and honestly I resent paying an additional $60 for awful service . Don’t waste your money going here, spent the money on NOBU or one of the other restaurants in crown or...
