I've eaten at this Indian place before, because I live local, and I have always thought how tasty the food is.
I have had butter chicken in the pasts.
Unfortunately this evening I noticed a lack of skill and generosity in my dish.
I ordered barramundi fish curry. Its like this dish, tested the "chef" or it just came out the freezer maybe..
I guess the trick is to order the simple things on the menu, this place is for a generic aussie customer who can't tell the difference in quaint
I had 2 small pieces of fish dropped into some generic sauce and sold for $30.
Not good quality or quantity guys. Do you care about your business? You have a lovely location... Did you hear about the Thai place that shut down, jusy down the road from...its because they got lazy and board and served below standard food. I think your place is going the same way, unless you nail every dish every time every evening.??
Take a tip from Gordon Ramsey, if you can't deliver your whole menu every night, don't offer it.
The best places, are the places that have a smaller menu, and its not just un frozen food and served for top dollar.
It felt like the chef was at home on this night.
The creamy sauce was nice, a d rice cooked well, nothing special. the guys at the till seamed lovely but confused how to work the till. .. maybe they confused in the kitchen too.
It looks like they have the family members in to cover the slow days of the week.
Itihaas, these reviews are magic for you guys. You are so lucky you can hear this feed back and save your business
If your quality slips...just once,, you will loose customers every night.. And it looks like you made some short cuts tonight.
I'll be back to eat again and Ill be happy to emend this review....
Read moreI recently celebrated my birthday dinner at Itihaas, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely incredible, starting with complimentary papadums that set the tone for the evening.
We ordered the Tandoori Sampler and Nawabi Chops to start, and the meat was perfectly moist, flavorful right to the center, and paired with the best chutneys I've ever had. For the mains, we chose Kofta Korma and Paneer Dhaniya Adraki from the vegetarian menu, as well as Butter Chicken from the non-vegetarian options. The dishes were so delicious that my friends and I couldn't resist diving in immediately—by the time I thought to take a picture, we had already devoured most of it!
The naans were delightful—soft, fresh, and perfectly made. We tried the gluten-free naan, plain naan, and garlic naan, and all were excellent.
For drinks, we had beer, a Mango Lassi-infused cocktail, and the standout Midnight Mumbai. It was both visually stunning and refreshing, just what I was looking for. The manager, Nish, recommended this drink from their upcoming menu, and it was a fantastic choice.
The highlight of the evening was the service. Nish went above and beyond by bringing out a dessert with gulab jamuns on the house as a birthday courtesy. The warm gesture, combined with the outstanding food and drinks, made my birthday dinner truly special.
A huge thanks to the chefs for their amazing culinary skills and to the staff for their impeccable service. I’m looking forward to creating more memories at Itihaas. Highly...
Read moreMy husband and I had dinner at Itihaas last night. It was our first time at the restaurant - we chose it because of 1000+ fantastic Google reviews. And my - did it live up to expectations ! The place is not large, however the ambience is very nice. It was a weeknight and the restaurant was almost full. There were multiple take away orders throughout the evening - so it is very popular. And it is obvious why. We took the Veg banquet. They were accommodating of change request for entrees and mains (perhaps might not be able to when it is busier on the weekends) . The first round was papads with pickle, mint chutney and sweet chutney. This was followed by a surprise complimentary amuse bouche - served on a little "charpai". The Hare chane ki tikki was sumptuous and substantial. Tandoori Soya chunks were flavourful and paneer was soft and yummy. Mains of Bhindi, Kali mirch Paneer and Palak Chhena were flavourful and satisfying. Naans were fresh and soft. The dessert of Gulab Jamun and Jamun Kulfi is a must try. GJ were fresh, with the perfect amount of sweetness and bite. Jamun Kulfi was something we tried for the first time - it was a pleasant surprise. It was made with Jamun (fruit) and was not very sweet. Perfect cold accompaniment to the sweetness of the warm gulab jamun. One could tatse the freshness of Jamun fruit in it. All in all a very pleasant exprience, Very enjoyable food, stylish presentation. We were so impressed that we are taking our friends for dinner there tomorrow. A...
