The lady waiting the place awful firstly she claim shut down coffee machine at 2:30ish pm then she tried charge me $28 for two cakes I wasted money on parking so chose not buy cake imagine spending $40 to go eat 2 slices no coffee nothing more or less just disgraceful

To reply to your review the cakes were $12 each not $9 I had person with me who took a photo of bill in shock so will add that to my review when I get around to it. The lady also added tax on top of the bill like $3-$4 tax on top of the bill. I never seen this in other businesses yours is a first so you can imagine how much shock we were in. Usually tax added included in item but your cakes already so heavily prices greed of your business amazes me. Greediness is not nice and neither is trying to rush people/overcharge them while patronising them because you do not want them there. Not everybody needs your approval but we did like the look of your cafe from outside. Guess what they say is true you shouldn't judge a book by cover as your cafe staff lady who served us is nasty no point having nice pretty exterior if inside people are not nice.

You give cafes who are hard working a bad name. 230pm is afternoon tea time what you want people have coffee at 1pm like its lunch? I bothered spend $10 on parking as saw positive review but now know will never come to your crazy Cafe and hopefully others now aware not to spend money on parking just to be overpriced pushed out in patronising way. Criticism is not indicative or whether someone nice it's not my fault the quality of things has dramatically decreased very few places are genuinely good to eat at and places I do find good I support ferociously because they give value, are professional and don't overcharge people. Also they don't discriminate try to rush people out based on how they racially look and don't come up with excuses for shrinking portions increasing prices amongst other things. Do better. It's 2023. I went elsewhere and spend $40 but got three hot chocolates two almond croissants and a chocolate cake. We in your area and could have made us a regular customer but instead who served us chose treat us badly. We putting this up so other people like us don't have experience what we're going through with businesses like us. Like said its...

The Old Rosebud was running a promotion for children in the Autumn ‘Darling’ magazine. My kids spent hours colouring in their pictures of the restaurant - and the conditions said to present the picture for a kids milkshake before 30 April. We handed the new owner the pictures and he refused to honour the promotion. He could see upset children, and said he wouldn’t get paid for this. We have previously gone for food and drink once per week but we won’t return with the new owner.

Update: super alarmed by the response from the owner. He was called over to assist with the drawings by the barista who didn’t know what they were and immediately said they had ‘expired’. When I said they hadn’t he said he is not honouring them, that the magazine cancelled the arrangement, that he was a new owner and doesn’t make money from them. You were visibly irritated as soon as we arrived and even followed us onto the street when we walked past as a family a few minutes later to say you don’t get money for this. Many people witnessed. Kids would have been super happy to wait and were so proud of their work. Probably worth putting a sign up to say you are no longer accepting, even though it’s part of the Balmain Rozelle Food Festival promotion. Absolutely stunned at your response and what you have said.

All the best, it’s a small area with so many other food options that are kid-friendly. If you treat people like you treated us today, they will...

Quite disappointing. It's the little details! My food came out cold. After asking them to warm it and trying not to be difficult they took it back, heated the burger and left the fries to stay cold. Small details matter! The food took quite some time to come out. I can only imagine it sat around. In honestly had they of just heated the meal completely- it would have made such a difference. Such a small but easy to achieve detail. Wouldn't return.

(update to reply) - Ah I didn't realise there was a time limit for how quickly we must all discuss our dissatisfaction at every meal which turned up on our table.

I give quite a lot of 5 stars too. It really wouldn't have been hard to reheat the whole meal? Is there some elecrticity costs you're trying to avoid?! Or might it be that your hopeless and don't pay attention to detail or understand what paying customers deserve.... certainly better than we can make at home in an airfryer!

Also, it certainly wasn't 10 minutes, as my friend picked up a cold chip the second it hit the table and everything on that plate was cold. Speaking on time limits, considering how long it took for our orders way arrive, I know why it was cold.

Customers who read your rude reply will be sure to stay away. I feel I have done my good deed...

Gotta tell you guys about how good the bacon and egg roll was here. Had to work at the Rozelle markets a few weeks back and needed a bite to eat and a cup of coffee. So I crossed the road and ordered via the takeaway window. I was in a bit of a rush, had only 15-minutes, took a quick look at the menu before enquiring with the waitress whether they make bacon and egg rolls, to which she said yes and I replied one please with an oat latte, both to go and I tapped my bankcard before noticing the whole thing cost nearly $20, the roll costing $14.90. But as I sat down and dug into it, I found myself enjoying the taste and nutrition so much it literally brought a smile to my face. My first gourmet bacon and egg roll. Coffee was equally as good, I should have gotten two. Great start to the day!

An absolute staple to the Rozelle/Balmain area! The Old Rosebud’s new owners have turned things around, and it's FANTASTIC! They’ve brought a burst of flavor with their fresh Turkish offerings – we had cabbage rolls, handmade manti, skewers, dips, fried veggies, falafel, Brussel sprouts and salads. They were all DELICIOUS!👌 We loved it all! Plus, if you love your wines, they've got all kinds- Turkish French, Australian. The place feels warm, they have indoor and outdoor seating options and the staff is super into making the food great. The community now has a go-to for authentic Turkish/Mediterranean cuisine, for Friday and Saturday nights. Can't wait to go back for more!

The service at The Old Rosebud is exceptional. The baristas are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft. They took the time to explain the different brewing methods and offered recommendations based on my preferences. Their attention to detail and commitment to providing an outstanding coffee experience truly impressed me. In addition to their coffee, The Old Rosebud also offers a mouthwatering selection of pastries and snacks. I couldn't resist indulging in their freshly baked croissants, which were buttery, flaky, and absolutely delicious. The food complemented the coffee perfectly and made my visit even more enjoyable.
