I use to regularly roll in here when other pubs shut or to see a band, I've been reading the reviews about it being run down grungy over crowded, hot and small to boot a lot of the people that go to it are also grungy and stand outside probably trying to get a breath of air. I noticed lately it's been painted and looks better now. It was falling apart. I guess if live bands and grungy looking characters are your thing well your laughing because your In your element. They have a booking agent now which probably reduces the odd walk in from the locals to see whats going on. They also get some bands that use to play the pubs years ago Chasing the train was a regular at the Cat and Fiddle and it use to get packed out but it's more open and kind of less grungy. For posterity sake and live band gigs I'd be happy to keep it around these days booking to go into grunge to go deaf and stand among likewise I not really interested in any more. So I will leave my own preferences out of the quations if judgement and merit and just have to give it a 3 on the basis of size, grunge, booking arrangements as there are other live gigs around that are better in these factors but not so easy to find this type of band gig house around. Thumbs up for the grungy uniqueness only unfortunately. But don't want it to dissapear as it's...

I attend sutra sunrise here July 6 2025, I have been many times before however I did not feel safe and witnessed extreme disregard by staff for RSA standards. Bathrooms were inaccessible and people urinated all over the place, I saw medical emergencies being ignored, no crowd control. When I voiced my concerns with staff multiple times I was either laughed at or blown off. I like to party, yes but I've seen first-hand how this level of negligence results in tragedy and decided to leave early for safety concerns. This is not how sutra sunrise events were in the past however I did attend another sutra event at kinselas on Oxford that was also completely unacceptable in terms of safety. I don't recall ever having to leave other venues due to safety concerns. If you also experienced this you can report to RSA board like I will be doing. Include any videos you have to support your claims.

Shame on...

I’m not a review person but man this was a dump. We (some friends and I) spent $50 each on a ticket for what we assumed was a rager, however we went in 3 times to a dead space throughout the night with our last time in being at 1.30am. When we tried explaining that we wanted a refund for our ticket we were met with hostility and attempted intimidation by whom I can only assume is a manger/higher position and staff. I was looking forward to a night of trance music and dancing but honestly the disrespect shown by the bridges staff and management showed me customer service at its finest. I have let my peers in the rave scene know to boycot the bridge until they have a refund policy in place for the night of events (such as a 50% refund or a credit for the next party) I suggest you do to. Very disappointed and will be ensuring to pass this onto others in...

Hello 1975! It has a certain charm, the arty, the eccentrics, the flying sky high, all gather here. Music in the "grunge" bar, black everything, rough around the edges, shoulder to shoulder, plastic glasses. I went for TOFOG and was more entertained by the guy on guitar in the front bar "Tim", and the distinguished patron serenading a woman with an opera number. But definitely not by the guy who kept yelling out "Are you not entertained" and "By the glory of Rome". What was that?? If you want something to absorb the alcohol you're not getting it here. Staff were great, friendly, tolerant, and they just did it all easily. Very cool posters on the walls and the beer garden is Las Vegas Desert Hotel retro. Loved it!

The bridge hosts great techno parties every now and then, but one thing really urgently needs improvement: they only supply disposable cups for tap water. I don’t even want to imagine how much rubbish one night of partying here contributes to our planet… specially considering that most guests use more than one cup per night. I would have hoped that the severe floods and bush fires of the last years would have shown people that we are in a severe climate crisis! We need actions now. And replacing disposable with reusable plastic cups is really an easy solve.

Went there for a gig this weekend. The place is kinda run-down, the guy at the door was being a bit condescending and sarcastic (I wasn't drinking, maybe he thought everyone was pi$$ed), only one cubicle toilet for ladies... Meh. Great history and the bar staff were both very nice but I would not go there to hang out or for a drink - just for gigs, whenever something good is on. The band was great, by the way - this review is not at all a reflection on them.
