Fantastic Lebanese food. Service was excellent - the waiter was very welcoming, explained the menu to us and checked in with us through the night. Would recommend the platter for 1 ($28) where you can taste a mix of items including lamb, falafel, hummus, baba ghanouj, beans, lady finger , cabbage rolls. The beef ($20) was however a bit tough and the bread was a little bit hard. More Seating available upstairs

One of the oldest Lebanese restaurants in Sydney serving up authentic classic dishes. You can go for a banquet where you are guaranteed to be full. We ordered off the menu this time and everything was delicious. The staff are super friendly, we always enjoy our meal. Don't go to the fancy ones and pay double, support the local family businesses.

Everything was so beautiful and the wait staff member was very attentive and friendly. It was too good so I didn't even have a second to take pics before everyone at the table started to dig in lol. We had veg dishes - I am not a vegetarian myself, but all of us including my vegetarian in-laws enjoyed the dishes. Jan 2024

Food was great! Really accommodating when it comes to allergies, and generally a really great vibe.

We went there with a group of 7 and the food came out quickly and tasted delicious, I'd recommend the grilled eggplant, it had a delightful crunchiness throughout, and had a unique mix of flavours that worked really well.

My partner is a coeliac and they went out of their way to ensure the food was prepared separately, and literally half the menu was gluten free so she was like a kid in a candy shop. Considering we were waiting probably less than 15 minutes and it came out the same time as everybody else's, you'd be hard pressed to find a better experience...

Amazing food!!! My family have been coming here since I was a young child... it opened in about 79 and we have been going most of those years!! The food is delish, authentic and plentiful. The owner Michael is friendly, loves to chat and very accommodating. He will happily swap things out of the banquet if you need or add things in. We sadly found out they only have about 6 more months of lease until the building gets made into apartments. Get in there now if you want to try it!! We usually order the banquet and two of us order the stuffed zucchini. The chicken skewers are divine and the cinnamon tea at the end is a perfect...

Dark, old, tired and fabulous. If you judge a book by it's cover you are missing out. It's probably 30 years since I first went to The Prophet, and I really don't think the decor has changed. What also hasn't changed is the great food and warm friendly service. I've spent more time in recent years dining in what have become larger groups (Jasmins and Al Aseel), however dining at The Prophet last night reminded me what good home cooked Lebanese food should taste like. One of my old favourite restaurants is now my new favourite. Can't wait to go back with the kids and introduce them to a bit of history that...
