My wife and I stopped in for meal at 7.00pm on Sunday night. The restaurant was busy with takeaways, not too many sitting at tables. Tables are long share tables. The meals are a good price for a decent amount of food, pay on ordering and the meals are served to your table. As the décor is minimalist, most people just eat and leave, as we did. My wife thought that 7.00pm is a bit late to eat a sizeable meal, so she just wanted the Agedashi Tofu ($9.50) and I needed more and ordered the Teriyaki Salmon, salad and rice plate ($18.50). The tofu was served in a soup and easy to eat, my wife enjoyed the meal. I thought the 3 small portions of salmon weren't adequate but they tasted nice, the crispy salad was plentiful and the teriyaki sauce had saturated the rice, I really enjoyed that. The meal was served and delivered to the table quickly, still hot. A speedy meal here provides reasonable sustenance....

My previous rating of this restaurant was 5* however I’m not sure what has changed but the service has REALLY gone downhill. I can forgive places for mucking up orders if they resolve it and take ownership.

Unfortunately, they sent the wrong item to me. I was told to get a refund via the app I used and reorder. I tried to reorder and got a “restaurant closed” reply. I called back the response I got from the manager, Nobu, was “sorry. You just don’t eat tonight”.

I’ve spent $100’s of dollars in here over the years. And recommended it to a number of other people in the neighbourhood. Cheap food done well. But service is everything. Do yourself a favour and go to Zambrero next door and avoid the risk. Or go to any of the other great Japanese options on...

I dropped by this friendly looking place for a quick lunch, not knowing what to expect. The place was quiet and there were only two staff serving at the counter and in the kitchen. The food, however, was prepared surprisingly fast and the quality was better than what I expected. I order a bowl of salmon rice and although I am in no position to decide how "local" it is, my taste buds were happy with the mix of it all (rice, salmon, vegetables and sauces), not to mention the healthiness. A Thank-You for departing customers was a nice gesture and very Japanese. Recommended if you are in the area and feel like trying...

Highly recommended! The atmosphere is simple, but this does not affect the food and service qualities. It does reminds me of a truly Japanese food stall or a Yatai (屋台) with long benches. One of the few spots where you can find Tonkatsu (pork katsu) or miso dare (miso bbq sauce?). The donburi was well balanced with a lot of salad and a reasonable amount of rice. I was satisfied after the meal, but if you eat a lot I would recommend to get extra sides or extra rice. The food was really good and it reminded me of my dad cooking, big lover of Tonkatsu! ごちそうさまでした。美味しかった!

A simple shop without fancy interior decoration. But definitely worth trying because of the high quality food and reasonable price. I like how they put a lot of veggies into the dishes to make them more nutritional balanced. The meat were well seasoned. I think the teriyaki beef was a bit over cooked so it was not as tender as I thought but still tasted good. I like the udon soup but I think next time I may order teriyaki salmon with rice because they may match even better.

Been on my list for a while and decided to try it out. This is a fuss-free cafe style place offering different permutations of salad/rice bowls or udon. Interestingly, you can get an udon salad (much in the same way you might be used to a soba salad) which is what I got. Food arrived in a flash and the udon had a nice texture and bite, the salad maybe had a touch too much too mayo. It was nice. I also liked how they offered complimentary tea.
