Farina Pizzeria Crows Nest — Restaurant in Sydney

We so want to support local businesses but this is the most we could rate this restaurant. Food took about 20 minutes to come out - perhaps even longer. The problem with this restaurant is that the menu is too extensive which means the kitchen staff will take forever to have the food cooked (too much time spent prepping, cutting, opening different packets etc). It really is the sort of restaurant which is quantity over quality. I’d significantly reduce the menu items - maybe 8 pizzas,6 pastas and entrees etc- and just focus on what you do well. The menu attempts to be all things to all people and it’s just far from gréât in any area. Service was lovely, restaurant was comfortable, what was lacklustre was the food. We ordered the ribs (which was fine but didn’t delight), rocket salad (again, fine), and the entree platter which felt very oily and overly battered. Crows nest is a competitive place to run restaurants, particularly with so many restaurants within an easy drive. To compete you’ll need to be very good- beating your stock standard places like Bravo and the recently closed ride on pizzeria and it just didn’t do it...

My fiancé and I decided to try this restaurant out this evening, and to give it one star is being generous. For starters, we ordered the chicken wings with buffalo sauce to only receive boiled chicken with barbecue sauce and a smear of buffalo sauce as if it was decorations. We ordered a boscaiola which stated crispy bacon yet when we received it, it was full of warm up bacon. Nothing crispy about it at all, I did tell the waiter and his response was. Do you want us to give you a side of crispy bacon?

The margarita pizza we ordered we asked for prosciutto and rocket to only receive a pizza with wilted rocket. That looks like it was on its last breath.

Finally, we ordered an Italian salad with balsamic vinegar only to receive a salad with no dressing, and it was as dry as a Sao biscuit.

It seems like we got the short end of the straw with Christmas and boxing day, which many of the ingredients were leftovers or hand me downs.

When I confronted the waiter at the end, to advise of our disappointment and of the incorrect food that was given all that was given us was a discount of $16, which was the dry salad.

Appalling Service - Focused more on Menulog deliveries not actual customers. We ordered a shared starter and a pizza and chicken schnitzel for mains. Two minutes after receiving our starter my pizza arrived, the waiter asked if it was too soon and took it away and put on the side. Apparently to be replaced with a fresh one. After finishing the starter, the chicken dish arrived but no sign of my pizza or of any of the wait staff who were more focussed on takeaway meals and chattering amongst themselves. My wife had finished her chicken when the waiter came over and asked if we wanted anything else. I stated my pizza would have been good and she looked surprised. Decided to leave the pizza and have it taken off my bill. No apologies received and they seemed indifferent to the situation. This place is Italian in name only and the team have not clue about service or how to run a restaurant. Can't comment on the pizza quality as I am still waiting. My wife's chicken was good. We were advised to give this place a miss by our daughter due to a separate poor experience she had. We should...
