Fresh tofu pudding without gelatine and lots of yummy toppings to choose from! I've only ordered takeaway but they accept reuseable containers to reduce waste 🙏 they also offer some tea to drink whilst you wait for your order. Very friendly staff and very cute space. The only criticism I have is the open hours - can't go there on my lunch break as it opens a bit later and miss getting dessert there after dinner as they close by 8pm on most nights. EDIT: as of 8 Dec 2023 they have changed their opening times over summer to open until 10:30pm!! I have also tried their mochi with roasted soy powder which was so good. Still yet to try their cakes, soy milk and recently they have added savoury options too! Looking forward to try them 🙏 8 Dec 2023 - I tried the cold noodle and it was so refreshing with a sweetish/sour tone to the broth that paired well with the kimchi and pickled daikon. I opted for the vegan option without the egg and I still felt very full at the end of the meal! I have also tried the tofu noodle set recently and it was amazing with so many yummy components! They have added some small little bits to it since too! (eg roasted cashews) Will eat here for dessert rather than other places like MeetFresh because of the freshness of ingredients and very friendly staff who are more than happy to explain all the components of the food to you if you have...
Read moreI had pretty high expectations given the 4.8 rating, but overall the experience felt a bit average. The queueing system was confusing - you're meant to write your name down, wait for a table, and only then line up to order food (in the same line as takeaway customers). It's not the most intuitive setup, especially on a cold, rainy day, and the place felt a bit understaffed.
I came here hoping for a low-sugar dessert option, but most of the menu items still contain added sugar. Only the front-page soya puddings let you choose to have syrup on the side, though all the toppings still come pre-sweetened with no option to leave them out.
I ordered the hot soya pudding with black sesame mochi and barley. The pudding itself was warm, but the toppings were cold, which threw off the balance a bit. The mochi lacked chewiness, and the black sesame in it had a gritty, uneven texture - at least not as smooth or well-blended as I'd hoped. There was also too much water in the bowl. The soy milk served on the side was good (and sugar free!), but adding it to the dish really diluted its flavour.
If you're looking for a truly low- or no-sugar dessert that brings out the natural, nutty flavours of ingredients like soy, black sesame, or kinako, this might not be quite what you're looking for. But if you're happy with something closer to a 30-50% sugar level, it could still...
