HOMOPHOBIC STAFF WITH DISGUSTING FOOD. STAY AWAY!

We went for a lovely family night out on what happened to be the same night as a LGBTQI+ event that was happening on the same street as the restaurant. Upon trying to enter the restaurant, the door was locked and the owner looked me up and down, refusing to open the door assuming I was a partygoer despite us having a booking. He begrudgingly opened the door after asking me “what do I want?”.

We are thrown onto a chipped up wooden table with paper serviettes and no table cloth, despite the images on their website and Instagram showing otherwise. We are then presented with the menu which has HALF of what is published on their website.

We ordered 2 pastas, pork chops, hot chips, zucchini flowers and aranchini for a grand total of $250!!!

The zucchini flowers tasted like batter and like they’d been warmed up in the microwave whilst the hot chips were by far the oiliest things I have ever eaten in my entire life. My group had one chip each and spat them out.

The size of the caprese salad was an actual joke and wouldn’t have even been big enough for a toddlers entree. My gnocchi was so overcooked it could’ve been mushed baby food.

The entire dinner the staff kept making horrendous remarks about the LGBTQI+ community partying outside and how they were “too loud”. They did not once proactively come and refill our empty water bottle, which was left empty on the table for up to 45mins at a time until we asked it to be refilled.

All of this, and there were only 3 others tables with customers on them. This wasn’t even a busy night for them. I can’t even imagine the service and food quality on a busy night.

Stay away from these OVERPRICED and HOMOPHOBIC scam artists. A pub feed would’ve been 80% less and would’ve tasted 100x better. By far some of the worst food I have...

I held a dinner to celebrate the Medical School Cohort of a Clinical School's Halfway Dinner at Verde! It is a beautiful restaurant with amazing service both on the day an in the lead up of the event with help going beyond what I could imagine to help me deliver a special night for future drs to remember. Everything was perfection and so if I could rate food, service, and atmosphere more than 5 stars, I would. If you're looking to celebrate either an intimate date night with a partner, or with party - like a Medical School event or special gathering with friends or family, I highly recommend Verde. The aesthetics are beautiful - I had previously visited Verde as EOI for this event, and I was already taken back with the beautiful interior during the day. The gold accents, the gorgeous wooden interior, mirror and tile was more enchanting at night. Food was so delicious and intricately put together. Gigi helped me in managing the event and was so kind and helpful in running the event. Antonio answered all my concerns and facilitated the coordination in the lead up to the event and is the BEST! The team really went above and beyond in ALL aspects with high quality delivery. I still get compliments on the night a month later about the event! I'm super grateful for Antonio, Gigi and the rest of the team at Verde that made this night a huge success. They are incredibly helpful and I appreciate how accommodating they have been! Thank you Antonio, Gigi and the rest...

I don't think I've had such a lovely meal and all round dining experience in a long time.

Seeking nostalgia and good food on Stanley St, my friend and I had been recommended Verde from several people and it didn't disappoint.

We were generously seated in a prime window spot on a very rainy night, which amplified the cosy factor of this authentic but still modern Sicilian restaurant.

The food was faultless, from portion size to last bite. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and more knowledgeable in an intuitive and non-gratiating way, which I really appreciate when eating out.

The ambience is rustic chic, wood beams creating warmth, white napkins exuding class, good wine, and subtle but comforting music. At one stage a beautiful piano piece from the Call Me By Your Name soundtrack came on, much to my personal delight!

I will not hesitate to spread the good word about Verde, although judging by a steady stream of guests on a pouring Saturday night, this place is clearly worth the trek from wherever you may be...

Rushing along on our first evening in Sydney, full of delight and excitement for the days ahead. Raining about us and laughing with strangers as we all clopped along. In the drab grey wet afternoon the warmth and ambiance of Verde drew us in. Another gem of a find. Seriously brilliant staff manning this little darling of a find. Superb food, fabulous serious from the Manager and Gigi. A bit of magic having them both look after us. They created a space for tables of people to quietly connect over scrumptious food, warmth and next level service.

I have been going to Verde for years and the reason is that the food is always fabulous and the staff make you feel like you are part of their family. We shared the pan fried scallops which were heaven in a mouthful, the calamari and the arancini balls which are a must try. The mains we had blue swimmer crab spaghettini, the meatball and rib tagliatelle and the ricotta and spinach ravioli. All were lovely and full of flavour. This is not your average Italian, it is high-end, and yes on the higher price, but worth it.
