Iam writing to complain the bad services that my family had experience with this restaurant on Tuesday the 31st August 2018, whic is yesterday . I am so upset with the way the waitresses in this restaurant with a very rude and degraged on people and a very inexperience services. as we arrived at about 7pm with our booking at 6.45pm . The table were available but as we are five of us the table they reserved for us is for six in the middle and my Aunt were a disability wheelchair , I can see one of the waitress approaching us in a very bad manner and told that we can"t sit on that table becourse we had a wheelchair so they said that we must take the table for four , How could they have a four people and one wheelchair to be sit on the table of four , So I ask nicely that there are still other table that they can arrange to change us to be seat but the waitress said she can't plus the waiter were telling lies that table been booked until we finish our diner still three table still available specially the one reserved for us . This kind of customer services can never be in a city and in Australia . Specially they disrecard the wheelchair person and degrade. It is unacceptable . With the attitude they make my Aunt very down and upset, They need owe us an apology and good explanaton to my family or I will take further action . on the lift for disable asset were all block with cooking pans and boxes , Where we enter and leaving from the lift we have to bang in a few cooking pan to get out. This is very an outraged , I had all picture taken to take a...

Despite the usual unpleasant service, I have been to Mekong a few times because the food is pretty good. I don't particularly consider myself a petty diner but my most recent visit to Mekong was awful. I found - what appeared to the four of us - a clump of knotted hair in the barramundi dish, and a thin plastic strip in the duck curry. Initially I spat out the plastic and left it aside without complaining, as it was a special occasion and I didn't want to cause a scene. When the hair came out of my mouth soon after, I called over a waiter to notify him. He took both into the kitchen but then went back to standing at the counter/bar and didn't bother coming back to us to apologise or explain. When I waived him over, he came back and said 'it's ok just something that's in the fish' without actually explaining what exactly it was, if not hair. Last time I checked, barramundi is not hairy, nor does the flesh contain anything resembling hair. I told him the plastic was from the duck, and asked him to explain why there was a clump of hair in the fish. He started taking the half eaten plates away and kept saying 'ok if you say so', 'well you ate it' and 'it's ok it's not even hair' while rolling his eyes. We had one side of the barramundi before discovering this clump of hair. When we refused to pay for the fish, he rolled his eyes again and walked away. A simple apologetic gesture would've sufficed, but his rude and demeaning attitude just ruined the...

Was looking forward to trying Mekong for quite a while, but the standard of the food, drinks and service was below average unfortunately. We had the Flojito and Ginger King cocktails which I would not order again because there was no balance, and for all the ginger meant to be in Ginger King, you couldn't taste it. We ordered the Crab Tacos, Beef Skewers, Smoked Duck, Mushroom and Tofu and Crispy Pork Belly for dinner, plus steamed rice. The Crab Tacos were very plain in flavour but could've been so nice with some lime and salt. The beef skewers were nice, we loved the sauce, and so was the Mushroom and Tofu dish although the serving size was quite small. The Smoked Duck was probably the saddest dish of the evening, it was nice in texture, came off the bone nicely, but it didn't taste smoked at all and was swimming in an orange juice sauce that tasted like it came out of a bottle and sadly, was one of the worst duck dishes I've tried. The Pork Belly and Mushroom and Tofu had the nicest flavours of what we chose but the pork belly was not very crispy. The service was very basic, we had to get the staff attention to take our order as there were three people setting one table in a 99% full capacity restaurant. I will go back to try the curries one day and hope that the experience is better but after having been to Red Lantern, Long Grain and Chin Chin my expectations were quite high, and unfortunately we were very...

An inconsistent meal with some good and bad dishes. We first started off with the satay chicken which was $18. The chicken was great. It was grilled and marinated well, while being relatively tender, and it paired well with the peanut sauce. We got the fried rice with crispy pork for $25. The fried rice was a highlight as the rice had a nice smoky aroma and flavour from the wok. The pork was crispy and tender. However, at $25, I did find the dish to be a bit expensive with the portion size. We also got the pho bo for $18. The pho was shockingly bad. The flavour of the broth was severely lacking in any sort of beefiness and it could be seen with the broth being very translucent and looking more like brown water. The menu claimed that the broth was cooked for 72 hours, but I doubt that. The portion size was also tiny. The bowl in general was quite small, there wasn’t much of anything and there wasn’t much meat, as there were only a few slices of beef and two minute meat balls. The noodles felt overcooked too, as they were too soft and broke apart easily. Overall, a good meal, apart from the pho.

The menu has changed since the last time I visited (approx 3 months ago) & they mentioned the lunch menu is now different to the dinner menu. I say keep it the same as I was hoping to order a dish which I had during lunch. It is is a modern Vietnamese twist & some of the dishes very new to me. We stuck with trying the entree sampler, which had a great variety of their entrees. Only downsides were the pancake wasn’t crispy as what I’d normally expect & one of the skewers (beef) was so hard & overbooked it felt like I was eating beef jerky, hence not really finishing that skewer off. The calamari was good & had a great crispy batter. Our last dish was the soft shell crab salad, only thing was it wasn’t much of a salad and had a lot of sauce (although it was tasty) we were quite confused. Service isn’t very attentive but you can wave down one of them as they walk past frequently. Overall, the food & flavours were great & a great place to go for casual lunch or dinner.
