The place only accepts cash; so withdraw some money before heading there. Also one of the more authentic Chinese food offerings within Burwood. The Eastwood version of this restaurant is not as good. Also to note that there may be wait times in peak periods (lunch 12-2PM) and dinner (6:30-8:30PM). The menu has quite a selection of dishes, my usual choice is the dumpling noodle soup or chicken noodle soup. A side of pig ear salad or bbq lamb skewers (get it with chilli); Dumpling noodle take a bit of time as they have to ensure the dumplings are cooked through, they tell you this when you order (approx. 10mins wait). The other dish I usually order is the Oil Splash Noodle with Chilli; all the noodles which are served at the restaurant are explicitly hand made. The staff do not speak great English; however if you point at what you want. They typically understand what youâre after. There is sometimes a wait list which you have to put your name and grab a ticket off, but turnover of patrons is quite quick. Once youâre in the table youâre assigned to is immediately cleaned, old dishes removed and your new cutlery with cups and tea is swiftly taken to your table. Whilst dining you do notice that every table usually has a different dish on it; patrons will have a go to dish and the variety in the restaurant...

A fairly popular North-Western (the namesake) style Chinese restaurant. Nothing fancy here, just flavourful, quality and good value food. Service and decor are pretty much the bare minimum which fits right in Burwood and with the humble M.O.
Whilst some of the dishes I tried were a little underwhelming, the noodles are outstanding, especially the lamb. Would come back for that and the soup noodles.
Guo tie (fried dumplings) Flavour: S+, 8.5/10. Basic pork and cabbage but is pretty much what I expected. I would say, though, Guo tie is meant to be larger crescent shaped dumplings Texture: S, 8/10. Fairly crisp on the bottom but could be better Value: A, 7/10
Fried lamb noodles Flavour: SS+, 9.5/10. One of the best I've had. Strong cumin and herb with a slight chilli flavour Texture: SS+, 9.5/10. Again, one of the best handmade noodles I've had. Lamb: S+, 8.5/10. Solid, can't complain Value: SS, 9/10. $17 for a deceptively big bowl. The noodles very filling
Sesame sauce noodles Flavour: A, 7/10. Might be because we had the lamb noodles first, but, this was quite bland Texture: A, 7/10. Sauce a bit too creamy, like mayo, for my liking. Noodles still excellent Value: SS, 9/10. $16 can't...

This is a much recommended Chinese food in Burwood. Noodles thick and holds the body/ texture. The soup very flavoursome. Had the beef with hand made noodle soup. Along with my parents with their choice of spicy version. Very nice. And had this leek bun, also nice and hot. Service was good. But what we didn't like was the dining comfort. We didn't have ANY comfort in dining which makes sense because the restaurant dining room is so small, and the number of tables made the space cramped. It is understandable that it's a small restaurant, to make it more spacious they need to be rid of some of the tables. But at the same time if they're getting rid of the tables they won't attract many customers and could cause other customers to line up outside. So being cramped is understandable. But just didn't like the comfort. It's the only thing that ruined the dining comfort and atmosphere. But other than that, everything was awesome đđ. Dishes may be slow to come out but you will later find out it's flavoursome. Thank...
