Caledonia Shores — Restaurant in Victoria

Booked for lunch 27/12 and was not told in advance that there would be an extremely limited menu. It was so limited that our vegetarian friend could only eat edamame. Since we had already looked online at the menu prior in anticipation, we knew there were vegetarian spring rolls on site so were hoping they would be able to fry some up so our friend could eat something half substantial for lunch. Was told they couldn't because it was only available for dinner. What? Venue was very quiet (makes sense as they weren't serving proper food) yet service was practically non-existent. We had to go to the bar each time we needed more drinks. And lastly, to top off a really disappointing experience, it was so ridiculously overpriced. The public holiday surcharge would've been justified if we had actually received sufficient service. What a missed opportunity when venues rely on a great location but don't put effort into anything else. Calling bookings to let them know they will be serving a very limited menu is basic...

Second time attending this venue - first was extremely disappointing but it was opening weekend so we decided to try again.

Menu is incredibly overpriced for the portion and quality of food that you receive. Mind you there is a 10% surcharge for eating there on the weekend which makes the bill even more ridiculous.

We went with a group of 10 for a birthday, as we were leaving/standing at the desk ready to pay the venue proceeded to print the bill off, we then had to itemise it all ourselves despite the bill being $600+. We spent 15 minutes standing at the desk needing to calculate how much each person had to pay... Terrible service. Music is too loud. Delicious but overpriced cocktails. Won't be eating here ever again. Much better restaurant, food and service elsewhere...

Booked in for dinner on 27/12. Appreciate that is was warm weather and downstairs was likely very busy. But service upstairs for those that had booked a table was terrible. Missed food. Food was only just warm. Service was basically non existent. As we were waiting for our order to be taken for dessert, we watched many tables around us vacate and continue to remain dirty with empty plates and glasses. Staffing certainly was not an issue as there was at least 5-6 staff upstairs for a venue that wasn’t packed. Such a shame because this venue has a lot of potential - I...
