I'd been to Guf quiet a few times before and i've always had a friendly customer service with great prices. But 3/4 time's I've been recently i've been met with what feels like an unwelcome atmosphere from some staff from behind the counter. Two expiereneces that stick in my mind was when i tried to buy something and a staff member had their friends crowing the check out section while they talked about a Magic deck they were making and i felt like i wasn't acknowledged as a customer. i waited for 5 minutes and after not being servered i looked around looking for other items, after coming back against to the counter the staff memeber seemed almost annoyed that i wanted to buy something. i wasn't greeted with a friendly hello or a casual conversation that i was usually met with before. My most recent expeirence happened when i walked into the store and the people behind the counter looked up at me like i wasn't suppossed to be there. I walked inside and grapped some Hardcases. when going up to the counter the staff member (this one diffrent from the one before) didn't acknowledge me. i asked "how are you going today?" and i was met with no response. i wondered if they just didn't hear me so i asked "Busy day" to again no response. This was my first time buying hardcases for some Cards and when asking "are these okay for Pokemon Cards" it was just a quick "yea" and that was it. i ended up buying a couple more items totaling to over $100. At the end of the transaction they turned their back to me immediately and went back to talking to a staff memeber about something. i found it a little rude that even after spending over $100 i didn't even get a Thank you or a see you next time which i had gotten before from Guf even when...
Read moreChecked the Guf website for a card in stock, it said it was so I went in to purchase it. Staff member couldn't find the card, offered to order it from Werribee shop for me. He advised me it would be there 3 days later. On 4th day I contact them about the card, still not in. Told definitely after the weekend it will be in. No contact made from Guf about the card. I call them on the Thursday about the card and they tell me it's in and ready to be picked up. No effort made from Guf to reach out. This is not the first time they have been unable to fulfil their promises - especially when it comes to stock online vs what's actually in store. The staff can be alittle unfriendly at times but most if the time they are very friendly and thus place is a blast to goto with friends to game together and to meet other gamers of any kind from card games like yu-gi-oh to online gamers like lol and warcraft and all inbetween
This was a 5 star but had to drop as one of mt personal favorite thibgs was to stay till 8am playing games in the lock-in but they have determined that uts not worth it and they are closing it at 2am so 6 hours less. And that takes away the $20 for 8 hours deal for the lock-in. Sadly had to down it to 3 stars...
