This place really needs some proper hospitality training for employees. We've been here multiple times, yet every time there had been serious attitude issues from the staff members. The first time they over charged us 14 dollars on the bill, then as we raised the issue, we were told that's how it is, and received plenty of eye rolling from the staff member. The second time the meals were cold, lamb, broccoli were both cold, only roast potatoes were hot. We were asked how our meals are, so we mentioned the meals were cold, yet the waitress rolled her eyes at us and walked away. We requested for some extra serviettes, the waitress rolled her eyes again, walked off and waved her hands at us said use the ones on the table (which weren't enough). Our drinks were taken away without being asked whether we are still going or not. Then we called manager to give some feedback about all of these, yet received more eye rolling. We were told if drinks got taken away, they can simply refill, which isn't the point, as the point is the poor manner from staff. Just to clarify, there were two girls there were very humble and with great attitude, but some others including the manager really need to probably have some review on their hospitality training. Rolling eyes at people when people are talking or communicating professionally isn't an acceptable manner. We are both respected doctors who are used to interact with people with manner and respect, it was quite shocking to have this kind of experience multiple times within a few days. The first time we took it as an accident, everyone makes mistakes, but when things like this happen multiple times, maybe it's the time the Inverloch Esplanade Hotel management to look into this a bit...
Read moreOn Fri 21 Mar we thought we'd go to the Esplanade Hotel, we are local, for lunch as the renovations were completed a short time ago.The place looks okay, but don't expect good table service with lunch, especially for drinks, which they make a point of offering when being seated. Be sure to check what arrives on your plate is what you ordered and is what was offered on the menu. The chips were described as rustic, skin on chips, but they weren't. They resembled standard catering straight cut chips...nothing rustic about them. Be careful when ordering drinks from a tall boy who works the dinning area with a beard. Dont call him to get his attention so you can order another $9.70 beer as you will be greeted with the rolling of eyes and midly disguised contempt. While I thanked him for coming over to serve me, I handed my empty glass to him which he would not take from my hand. Very disappointing experience and attitude towards customers. As a local my family, friends, and I will be going elsewhere, like Bairs Hotel or McCartains in Leongatha. Korumburra has a couple of great pubs with meals. Meehan have excellent cafes, pub, and bakery. Fish Creek, Foster and Port Welshpool also have excellent and friendly cafes and pubs. The Inverloch Hotel may look good and have a great location but their staff and very basic pub food...
Read moreThe Inverloch Parma Review (warning long comparison) Parma itself - Inlet: Crispy. Had a lot more toppings, lots more cheese. Had a really thick chicken schnitzel, around an inch thick. Took up most of the smaller plate. Lost a bit of the flavour in the cooking. Invy Espy: Bit moister than the inlet, had lesser toppings. Stringey Cheese. Solid size taking up 1/3 of the plate. Juicy all in all.
Drinks - Inlet: pint of coke, as expected. Ordered the white wine and they filled over the recommended serve which always nice. Invy Espy: pint of lemonade, bit weak and we agreed. Ordered the white wine, was done, normal serve.
Chips n Salad - Inlet: overcooked chips. Decent serve in a mini basket. Salad was pretty small, but had feta and lots of balsamic dressing. Invy Espy: really crispy chips. Took up 1/3 of the plate. Salad was bigger but a bit average, no dressing.
Decore/atmosphere - Inlet: bit darker, smaller room. Huuuge bar. Allocated seatings. Order at the till. Staff were friendly Invy Espy: more family atmosphere, bit more lighting and windows, bit more colour. Find your own table. Order at the till. Staff were friendly
$$$ - Inlet: $27 for the Parma, $6 for the pint of soft drink, $8 for the white wine Invy Espy: $25 for the Parma, $6 for the pint of soft drink, $10 for...
