I had booked a table for 10:30am today for Mother’s Day Brunch at The Coffee Club in Bendigo.
My Mother and I were seated. I proceeded to the cashier to order our meals.
I ordered Bacon and Eggs on toast (eggs sunny side up and medium) , Eggs Benedict, Iced Chocolate and an Orange Juice.
The cashier advised if I was to order the Eggs Benedict that there would be a wait of approximately 25 - 30 minutes. Therefore, I changed the Benedict to a simple Ham and Cheese Croissant.
Upon returning to my table I checked my receipt and noticed that the cashier had only ordered eggs on toast and my iced chocolate was missing.
I returned to the cashier and rectified the problem and paid the difference.
Approximately 1 hour later our meals were delivered.
The eggs were flipped, terribly overcooked and as flat as pancakes. The bacon was thrown in a pile on a seperate plate and was cold. The croissant was barely warm (in fact cold in places). The iced chocolate I swear was not all milk and was instead possibly watered down.
I approached the waitress and kindly explained the issues with our meals.
Firstly I could have ordered the Eggs Benedict because we waited for 1 hour anyway.
Secondly, I advised that I hated complaining but presentation was disgusting and the taste was equally disgusting.
I was offered either to have our meals re-cooked or a refund.
As we wished to enjoy a meal together for Mothers Day; we opted to have our meals re-cooked.
The meals arrived for the second time in an acceptable time frame.
Low and behold the eggs arrived back almost exactly the same; flipped, hard and as flat as pancakes. The bacon was burnt in places, the croissant was hot but was dry. I beg to differ that the croissant was not the same one but re-heated.
I couldn’t do it again. I apologised to the waitress for complaining again but advised that the re-cooked meal was as disgusting as the first and simply not acceptable. I asked if her original offer of a refund still stood and advised we would like to accept this offer. She happily obliged and directed me to the cashier to receive a refund.
I wished to see the Manager but was advised that the Manager was not available or in fact not on the premises.
The lady in charge for today came to the register and I advised of the issue further which she was very aware of from earlier. She asked if I expected a refund for our two drinks, also. I advised that this was not a pleasant experience today and yes they probably should refund them as well. She further explained that if we had drunk our drinks she must charge. So as to not cause any trouble I advised her to charge us for our drinks. She did so and returned our money.
I understand that this was a busy day but it’s no excuse for the slow service, poor service and the food we were presented with and expected to consume.
Our experience was not pleasant and it spoiled both our Mothers Days. We left without eating any brunch and it was now lunch time.
I would not recommend dining here to anyone and...
Read moreI, along with my daughter in-law and 3 children visited your cafe on 22 April at 12.35pm I had placed an order for the following 1 long black, 1 large iced coffee, 2 full babycinos, 1 chocolate brownie, 2 cup cakes and a apple and blueberry muffin.. After waiting over 10 mins for anything to appear the children were hungry so I went inside and asked politely if they could please have their order asap. Then 5 mins later appeared the rock hard cup cakes, so hard in fact the kids could not bite into them, the muffin was the same and as for the the blueberries we are still searching for them!! These had obviously been in the fridge for hours or even days, still no sign of the coffees, no brownie, so yet another 5 mins goes past and again I have to go inside and ask, then the cino,s came out and the coffee but alas no spoons where provided on any table, so again I had to leave my chair to ask for them, the brownie was rock had and could not be severed, so again I get up and ask if they can microwave to for 20 secs . I understand that you maybe having difficulties employing staff and this was indeed the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have visited your shops in Melbourne many times and it has always been a good experience but alas this time you need to be aware that your customers should in fact come first and the staff need to be trained correctly. I is management that are at fault, all in all a very disappointing experience and yes I did speak to a young gentlemen at the counter when...
Read moreDear owner, I have been with The Coffee Club for many years and its one of my favourite place to be. Never have any doubts about its service and food. However, i have the most terrible experience today at your place in Bendigo. Food was not great, but what led to this review was staff attitude towards our feedback. We had 6 people and each one of us ordered all seperate meals. Food was not meeting minimum standard in general, for my own Chicken Parma was extremely dark, i had asked staff member to know whether it was normal to them, as i had this dishes at many other Club never being like this. Their multiple staff said that what it is. Therefore, i can only assume that the food preparation process was not trained properly according to The Coffee Club recipe. They all tried avoid me, i then had to ask the chief , she said its okay to be consumed. I shall be firm with them that i wont be eating this dark piece of chicken. They were then unwilling to make another dish for me. Eventually they made another for a goodwill, which turned out a bit less darker. Nevertheless, after 15 mins making a new plate, my Parma was ready, left at their counter for a good 10 mins, they all saw it, nobody took some initiative to bring it to me. Thankfully, i had what look alike what i ordered but it was cold. Thank you The Coffee Club staff in Bendigo. Well done guys, you are committing to lose one more loyal client and ruining a big name. Will never see you again, clearly has no sense of urgency or...
