Food was average, customer service below average. First time eating in and it will be the last. We walked in with waitresses just walked straight past us, so we thought we'd seat ourselves. We got ourselves a menu and had a browse for 10 or so minutes before deciding what we wanted. Just as we were about to get up and order, a waitress approached us and asked of we had reservation. We said no and that we had already been here for at least 15minutes looking at the menu, she then said they were fully booked and that she could seat us outside (it was raining and cold). There was also 3 or 4 spare tables around the place, so i don't know how they were fully booked. After telling her we would rather sit where we were, she then said for us not to order just yet, she'll have to 'sort something out'. So we waited 5 minutes or so before she came back and said it's fine to sit where we were. Maybe consider having a sign that says wait to be seated or something would be handy. We ordered our meals, there were 5 of us eating. One person ordered raisin toast and the rest of us bacon and eggs, big brekky board and hot coffee. We waited around 20 minutes before getting our drinks. Food wasn't too far behind. All of us except the person who ordered toast got our food. We went up 3 times to ask for the toast just to get a "yes, it's on the way" with no apology for the wait. Most of us had finished eating our bacon and eggs when the raisin toast finally come out. The food was good, not great. Toast was that burnt and hard you needed a steak knife to cut through it. Over priced food. I ordered 2 meals, the raisin toast and 3 drinks cost $125!!!!! A table of 7 people next to us, got up and left because they had been waiting over 30 minutes for coffee, another table around us got given the wrong food. A couple sat next to us and was looking at the menu when a waitress come over with banana pancakes to give to them. They were confused and said they hadn't even ordered yet! Very unorganised, under staffed and super busy. Not...
ย ย ย Read moreOver time I've been to Tilly Devine and had nice food and good service, however on three occasions the only time I've not had a good experience has been interactions with the owner. I was unaware she was the owner the first two times, and since finding out have vowed never to set foot in there again. I will not support a a business run by someone that doesn't possess the basic people skills or insight to realise that her interactions come across as aggressive and and rude, almost like you are a nuisance. I also wonder how she speaks to her staff if that is how she speaks to customers. I have read some of her replies to other negative reviews and the defensiveness of her behaviour is proof that she has no insight into the way she is coming across, I hope she has the intelligence to take on board these reviews as a way to improve her social skills and improve her business rather than attack on her personally. If you want reviews for your business you have to take the good with the bad and see it as a way to help further improve your business...

I ordered a dessert and coffee for myself, which somehow took about ~15 minutes to arrive, and would have been even longer if I hadn't gone up to the counter to remind the staff of my order, meanwhile, all of the front of house staff were straight up just standing around doing nothing.
The staff take plates and cutlery from tables but do not actually clean the tables, nor do they remove rubbish. There was litter everywhere.
Coffee was abysmal; extremely milky and very little actual coffee, but the dessert was actually very nice.
There's a member of staff walking around in motorcycle boots, he's typically either pacing around trying to look busy (while not actually doing anything) or he's just standing behind the counter staring at customers. He thinks he looks very cool.
The only good members of staff seem to be the two white ladies out front and the guys in...
