I am disgusted at the service that was given by your staff on Sunday 5 August 2012 at approximately 4pm. My husband and I came to your cafe for a drink and a bite to eat. We placed our order being a Choc-o-Block Espreski, pot of tea and a Steak Sandwich. The pot of tea and the Steak Sandwich arrived - albeit separately - and after asking one of the wait staff to follow up on the Choc-O-Block Espreski we were told that it was just being made, but it NEVER arrived at our table. We finished our food and pot of tea and still NO Choc-O-Bloc. Numerous tables of people arrived after us and were served their food and drinks including what appeared to be SEVERAL Choc-O-Bloc Espreskis! Out of disgust we left!!!!!! I asked the Barista behind the counter to refund my money and explained why. He walked off, spent a good minute rummaging through the til to get all the smallest amounts of change possible including foreign coins and pretty much shoved the COINS into my hand and did not even acknowledge me, nor my complaint and not a word was spoken by him to me not even the smallest of apologies. The change I was given included 3 x $1 coins, 2 x 50c coins, 3 x 20c coins, 2 x 10c coins, 1 x 50 EURO cents, 1 x 1 HONG KONG dollar. We found the service and treatment of your cafe and staff as rude, disgusting and completely unacceptable. There was a very obvious profound statement behind this action and had there not been a restaurant full of other patrons I would have expressed my disgust further. As a new cafe in the Kalamunda area where there are a large number of other options for the public to go for a coffee and bite to eat, then I would have thought that you would be ensuring much better service to your patrons. We will in future be taking our business to one of the other local cafe's and will be sure to spread the word to our numerous friends and family in the area to do the same. We certainly will not be recommending your business to anyone. Your staff have left us feeling deflated after a wonderful afternoon out...

We had an interesting experience.

My partner booked our 8.30am breakfast for Mother's Day. We specifically requested the table near the front counter to seat 7 people since we have THREE people with mobility issues.

We arrived on time, mum and dad who are in their mid 80s, limping and with visible walking stick. My sister in law who also had knee and leg injuries, limping and walking with a crutch. We found the table marked reserved. As our family with mobility issues walked slowly, we were stopped rudely by this lady asking if we have any reservations. We said yes. She said that table was reserved at 12 noon. She wanted us to move somewhere. So we tried to move while our 3 family members struggled walking with us to keep up with the pace. Minutes later, they decided to keep us in the same table, so long as we were out by 12 noon. We said we are only going to have breakfast as we booked it. We will surely be out way before 12 noon.

The food came out in a timely manner. They were fine. The lady at the counter who served us was very friendly and smiling. Same as the ladies who brought our coffee and food.

We acknowledge that it is a very busy and special day. It would have been nicer if the manager (we think she was a manager) could be sympathetic, kinder, and aware of people with disability.

It would have been a nicer breakfast, but she greeted us rudely, and she seemed very stressed that morning due to the business of the day.

My partner and I were fine to move tables and follow her in a quick pace. But we had family who were unable to walk fast, actually struggling to walk due to illness and operations and old age. A little empathy can go...

I love the Dome , have been to many in Western Australia. I am also a keen customer service person... Which until today, always received at previous Domes, first and last time to this one.l had also greeted staff with a hello , how are you along with a smile. I orderd a flat white and lactose free chai... A toasted ham and cheese , then asked if l could please have a toasted ham and tomato, no big deal, something light as we had a three hr drive ahead. Waited a long time to receive our order , that's OK it was lunch time... Burnt toasted sandwiches arrived ....mine full of Mayo...which l asked the young man who delivered it could l please have without Mayo, he said it would be another 20mins or more wait.. So we decided to leave. , but before l left l wanted to say my peace....a grumpy older women said all toasted sandwiches come with Mayo....this is the lady l placed my order with... Her comments loud and extremely rude , said didn't you read the menu. When l ordered my toasted sandwiches , went to the counter expecting, what l asked for... The toasted sandwiches were swimming in mayo...... Further more my chai was not made with lactose free milk..

So l ended up with a very sore gut.... Not a place l would ever...

Was there last week rude staff when ordering 2x Take away coffes both were not what I asked for when received wanted to get outa there fast took a sip in the car only to find one coffee didn't even have coffee in it it was like warm milky water and the other burned coffee taste and wrong all together. We decided today to give it one last chance for breakfast and didn't order coffee bc last time was horrible, got pancake stack and eggs, Benny avocado stack. Wish we didn't bc it was terrible eggs Benny the sour dough was burned on crust black black the rest of bread not cooked and soggy ckearly been in some sort of heater or oven bc plate was burning hot the avocado was brown and literally slimmy the eggs were chalky and tasted like Vinegar. Actually made my partner feel sick and throw up. The pancakes were ok. However, the marscapone cheese on the side was off and sour... Yuck, we won't be returning.. Wish had taken photos earlier.

Met a friend here for coffee and had a really relaxed, pleasant time. Dôme in Kalamunda has a welcoming, laid-back vibe that suits the hills perfectly – cosy inside with a nice buzz of conversation, and some outdoor seating if you fancy a bit of fresh air. I went for an iced frappuccino-style drink which was exactly what I needed on a warm day – cold, creamy, and not too sweet. And the macadamia cheesecake? Genuinely lovely. Rich but not heavy, with a great balance of flavour and a nice texture from the nuts. Definitely one of those “wish I’d ordered two” kind of desserts. Service was friendly, and everything came out quickly even though they were fairly busy. A great little spot for a casual catch-up, and it’s right in the heart of town so handy if you’re exploring the area. Would happily visit again.
