I got my coffee in about 10 minutes, which was fine as they were busy. The coffee was great. I then waited about 45 minutes before going back to the counter to ask where my food was. Apparently there was no docket for my food ( exactly the same as a person's review a week ago). They said they would make it now, but I had already been there for the best part of an hour. So I asked for a refund of my food ( only my food at this point as I had received my coffee), they could then not work out how to do a refund in the till. So I waited another 5 minutes while everyone played with it. So now we are an hour in, so I said I would like a full credit including the coffee. You would think I was stealing from them by the reaction. At this point I am saying just give me my refund because I want to leave. At this point, the guy serving me decides to continually repeat " we are all human and we all make mistakes over and over. I said I just eant an apology and my refund...to which he decided that he had already apologised so decided to get sarcastic and give me an over the top apology......like the previous reviewer, I had to go somewhere else for breakfast. I accept that people make mistakes, and I also have clients, so I know this occurs....best advice to you if you are going there....don't wait too long before checking that they have your order....and advice for Jjack and Jill cafe and specifically the guy serving...be humble dude, the service you provided when I placed my order and paid you my money needs to be the same when things go wrong. Your poor ability to handle this situation, and inability to provide my refund in a timely manner has resulted...
Read moreI talked up this place so much to my husband as I had been here a few years ago and it was fantastic. We ate there today and it was a shell of itself. The good points were the coffee was good and the customer service was lovely. The food however was a massive letdown and I rarely leave bad reviews. My scrambled eggs were very overcooked, for an extra $4 I only got one piece of bacon. Most places charge around $5 for two pieces so either put up your price and give 2 or bring down the price for one as that's a huge profit margin. On top of that to charge $2 more for gluten free bread that's from Coles or woollies is not great. There's so many bakeries that do lovely gluten free bread these days that are worth it to pay extra. My husband got the breakfast board - for $26 he got half a piece of toast with avo, 3 little hash brown bites, 1 poached egg, 1 piece of bacon and a granola and orange juice. First you guys forgot the bread and the orange juice had no grenadine in it. For that price you should at least give 1-2 pieces of toast not half and 2 pieces of bacon and 2 eggs. And for hygiene purposes you need to put greaseproof paper under the food on the chopping board it was served on. I wanted to message this privately but I don't think it would be taken seriously unless I posted on here. I'm a chef and I know what things cost, the attention to detail was just not there. I did find out it was under new management, so if you want to keep the old customers please take this...
Read moreWhere to start.. the complete lack of manners from staff or the extreme displeasure of tasting such bland yet terrifyingly painful “food”. To be honest, the practically inedible mulch heavily outweighs the staff’s ability to communicate so that is all this review will explore.
The $26 Eggs Benedict was a complete nightmare. Never in my life have I been served this dish with literally every element being a disaster. The continuity of the nightmare dish was so bad, I would rather eat prison food.
The “bread” was an English muffin that had sat in the toaster for all about 5 seconds. Completely soft, cold and soggy. The sogginess came from the horrific hollandaise sauce that may as well be called hollandaise juice, it was that watery. If I had to describe it one might say it consisted of an egg yolk mixed with water and poured on top of the disappointing egg. To my next point, the egg had no seasoning, painfully cold and bland. My taste buds struggled to find a single flavour. If I were a chicken I would be angry my egg went to such a distasteful meal. The “spinach” was actually rocket which was straight from the packet and not washed. Cold, dry and tasted like plastic. Lastly, the ice coffee might as well have been a milkshake. I could not discourage dining at this establishment enough. I do hope it improves in the future and until that time, I will certainly be staying at...
