So we had a bad experience here food wise early in the year , thought we'd try it again , went this Sun , bad start already, had to wait to get a drink , a line and one person serving , then sat outside , ordered our food , it got to hot outside so we found a table inside , let a waitress know , was told no problem will look out for your order . waited at least 45 min , went to order more drinks but again a line . Asked the waitress how our meals were going , said she'd check , brought out an order but it wasn't what we ordered . Went and found a staff member, found the manager , he checked the order and the dockets from kitchen I think , stated it may be our order but we explained it def wasn't . Then he brought out our order and explained it had been sitting in the kitchen and may not be hot , said if we didn't like it we could get a refund . We were hungry and could see it truly wasn't his fault , the place was short staffed , badly managed , when we asked for lime with our ginger beer we were told they had no fruit lol 😆 You could see the staff were run of there feet , doing there absolute best . My partner ordered the burger which comes with chips n salad , the plate had chips , burger and an empty spot for the salad but no salad , just so bad 😞 The management of this place need to improve and the rostering person needs to be sacked , the staff were amazing , thanks for trying guys , you deserve a...

Service was excellent and place looked stunning until we sat and realised there were much that weren't maintained, a few being broken tiles at the entrance that could be a trip hazard, burnt out light bulbs throughout the facility etc. The drinks were nice, typical. Once the food came, everything just went downhill. I had the parmi which had excellent reviews but it was terrible. The chicken was incredibly tough and rubbery I spit out the first two bites I had in the serviette, the knife was blunt, so horrible to pay $27 for something like that which I ended up eating some of the crust, the cheese and ham on it and the chips. Despite having a $50 voucher, it was not worth it. The steak sandwich was bad - cold, the bread wasn't toasted, the steak tasted boiled, so yuck for $26. We had the mushroom bruschetta as an entree, that was okay. I wouldn't order it again but it stopped me from throwing a fit as it filled me up a bit. We were going to have a few drinks and dessert but decided to leave as the food was simply obnoxious. That being said the two ladies who served us were professional, prompt and attentive. I do wish they asked our thoughts on how the food was. Dinner on a...

I often end up at the Kalamunda Pub on a weekend motorbike ride. Always like to relax with a beer or drink in the garden bar out front.

I am a bit disappointed today and these comments were also given to the barmen, so I am not just grizzling online. I fancied a shandy as it's a hot day and I find them refreshing. The barman was clearly learning, so I had to tell him what a shandy was. I was charged the price of a full pint, which I questioned and he didn't know the answer, but the other barman chipped in that they have to charge me for a full pint. I said that's not normally the case and that a shandy was normally cheaper. He assured me his price was correct. The young guy learning then tried to pour my shandy asking me again "how much lemonade". After half filling the glass he then tried to add the beer, but he kept frothing the top and couldn't fill the glass. In the end the other guy took over, poured half of it out and topped up eventually.

It won't put me off coming here but next time I might just go the easy option of a straight forward...

The hotel itself is worth a visit , great friendly staff and atmosphere and classic old architecture definitely gives it a country vibe. But the Vege options leave a little to be desired , it's good that they tried to give something for the city crowd though. Our Vege parmy and Vege burgers were pretty average. The chips were hot and crispy, the salad was fresh and tasty but the parmy was simply a frozen vege patty from Coles chucked in a deep fryer then some Napolitano sauce and cheese whacked on top. If you're going to do Vege parmy, at least take the time to just whack a few veges together then crumb it and freeze home made ones. Unfortunately it was the exact same patty in the burger 🍔 so I can't give that a tick too. Go check it out , skip the Vege options though, the meat fair looked far better from what I saw come out.
