Terrible customer service, best to avoid!

I would _definitely avoid this place for delivery or takeaway as you can't trust that what you get in the bag will match what you ordered. DEFINITELY double-check! Double-check _everything, even if you dine in!

So this place is a mixed experience, with really bad customer service. They messed up our order _three times, and despite admitting they made mistakes, refused to fix the problems. Ultimately they tried to gaslight us into believing that had already fixed it! They said they had already delivered our missing 3rd order to our table! They claimed they had delivered it on the same plate as my order!! Does that make any sense??

Obviously, they didn't deliver 2 orders on 1 plate, but despite waiting close to 30 minutes for our last order to get made, they refused to make it because "we already made it for you."

Well, we never got it and my kiddo never got their dinner. I tried to share my fish, but I'd already covered it with Tartar sauce and they hate tartar. So my child never got dinner except some sad, cold chips. We treated her to some ice cream (frozen yogurt) from the place _across the street (NOT the place right next door).

On the plus side, the fish we did receive was fine and the onion rings were very good. The chips were cold and bland. I will never go back and wish I hadn't gone in the first place. Best to avoid, as the customer service is atrocious. They clearly assume every customer is a tourist that they'll never see again, and it shows in how they treat people. Who the heck claims they delivered 2 orders on 1...

6 Feb 2021, I am writing this comment for your information owner of this store. We have had fish and chips from your store a number of times and have always enjoyed the quality. But this evenings grilled snapper and the battered snapper were not enjoyable at all. Both dishes tasted very bland and dry, the batter was actually tough around the outer edges. I did not notice who was the cook tonight, but if it was you (Owner) then you had a very bad day, if it was a stand in or temp cook, they need to be trained up to the normal standard. My wife felt that her grilled fish was something that had been cooked earlier and re-heated. We will be back when again the urge for a good fish and chip meals hits us. If it is anywhere near the quality of tonight's meals, that will be the last time we will frequent your enterprise. At least the meal was not wasted, our dog has had a very big fish meal and has not complained.

This place is under new management, and they've really improved their gluten free batter. Before it was good, and now it's the best I have tasted. They will batter most things that can be normally battered, as far as I can tell, so if you want a pineapple ring or banana go for it. Views still great, still table service.

Older review: In the past this place has been better than average for us coeliac diners, they've always been able to supply gluten free chips and have grilled the fish so we can enjoy fish and chips, if not quite like the usual, but close to. Well, they've stepped up to the plate and really done a great job again because just today we were able to have battered fish with chips. They've just started doing it, and it was lovely crisp batter with golden crunchy chips that couldn't be faulted. With a side of salad and some tartar sauce what more could you want? This is one of only two places I know that will do you battered fish that's within an hour's drive of Perth. So we had a lovely seat in the shade outside, watching the dolphins, boats and passersby. Excellent service, as usual and just the way to spend a Sunday lunch....
