Group of 19, pre booked for 10.30am (to miss the lunch rush) and organised with them ahead of time to order a few things from the lunch menu. When we got there, there were 2 separate tables for us. Not ideal but we went with it. My sister booked and they had told her they would join them together to create a more inclusive setting. Did not deliver.
Then I asked one of the waitresses if we can order the noodles and she said she had to order from the lunch menu, gave us 2 menus and left. Then another older waitress in pink came and told me, no you can't order from that menu till 11.30am. I told her this is what the other waitress gave us to order from, she old waitress in pink kept arguing and was rude while still telling me no then walked away.
A few minutes later, the other one came back to confirm in front of the older one wearing pink that yes, it was pre arranged and we can order. The old one did not apologise or attempt to be nice following her embarrassing mistake.
The rest of the service was truly atrocious. It wasn't even busy and they refused to take away empty dishes that i had to stack them and place them on an empty chair at the table. I've never had such bad service for a place that were getting several hundred dollars from a large group. I have dined here before and even used their private dining room, spending over $1000+ but will definitely never return and will urge my family and friends to dine elsewhere.
Foodwise, the normal dim sum was ok but the larger dishes such as noodles were hard and not cooked properly. I hope management see this review and look into the behaviour of their service staff. To identify the offending staff members, we were there Sat 30th and the booking was for 19 people at 10.30am. The waitress who refused to take away the empty dishes was the oldest of the one's...
Read moreWe have been to this pace several times, and after each visit we would say we won’t go back again. We still go back because it’s hard to find a restaurant that fits our whole family.
Food: Some are ok, some are below average.
Service: Poor, you will need to serve yourselves when they’re busy, they ignore you. Only 1-2 staff are efficient and friendly.
Atmosphere: There’re many big tables but very noisy!
Incidents happened everytime we dinned there, to name a few: • We booked a room with min charge of $500, at the end when we wanted to cut the cake, we’re told we need to buy the cutlery and plates - they didn’t charge before this, and they didn’t mention it when we passed them the cake at the start. They should waive that if people dine over a certain amount. • This is the only Chinese restaurant I have been to that doesn’t allow us to use more than 1 card to pay for the bills - I wanted to use gift card, which the amount was not sufficient. • Staff walked pass us when we called them, and when no one served us (it was not busy, the staff were chatting) we went to to get glasses ourselves, a staff was standing there, she just ignored us, didn’t even bother to help. • we needed 2 big tables next to each other, and they assigned us to tables with a walkway between them! Do they have any sense?
There are way...
Read morePinn’s Place My recent visit to Pinn’s Place, renowned for its Malaysian and Singaporean Chinese cuisine, has set a new benchmark for authentic flavors in the city. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff, contributing to the warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant was packed with happy diners, a testament to its popularity and the quality of its offerings. Despite the bustling crowd, the food was served quickly and arrived steaming hot. Each dish was a testament to the culinary skills of the chefs. The chili beef was a standout, with tender, flavorful meat that was perfectly spiced. The tofu, immersed in a very tasty gravy, was another highlight, offering a rich and satisfying taste. The long beans were crunchy and bursting with flavor, adding a delightful texture to our meal. However, the marmite pork, while delicious, could have been more satisfying if it wasn’t breaded. Despite this, it was still tasty and enjoyable. For dessert, we had the crispy pancake. Although it was not as crispy as expected, the red bean filling was authentic and provided a sweet and comforting end to our meal. Overall, Pinn’s Place offers a wonderful dining experience with its quick service, friendly staff, and delectable dishes. We will definitely be going back for more of their...
