The Pipers Inn — Restaurant in Western Australia

One of the worst experiences I have had so far!

I have been around this place a lot, but the vibe always seemed too ‘rowdy’ for my taste; overly loud with almost the same people hanging out here all the time (and they all know each other)

Anyway, one evening the beer lover in me broke down and I took a couple of friends here to get some lager. I am not sure if it was that day or if it is usually like this but we did not feel welcome.

Some regulars almost seemed hostile, educating us about the ‘rules of the pub’ and warning us about the ‘fines’ for taking the drink outside. (Multiple times)

I am not posting any pictures, because we just wanted to chug our drinks and get the hell out.

It was quite vexing, and shocking, especially considering how great my other experiences have been.

Went there to Pipers Inn in Halls Head today 19/04 after a long day at work. Entered at approximately 1600, nil people waiting at the bar for service. I was at the bar awaiting to be served and there were 2 people behind the bar. 1 x male was placing clean glasses in the fridge and 1 x female was writing on the menu board. Neither of them acknowledged myself waiting even though they were aware I was there and continued doing what they were doing whilst joking and chatting to each other. I continued to stand there for a few more minutes as they kept on chatting with each other and 1 x female got down off the ladder and back up again to write the menu. When the 1 x male finally served me, nil apologies for the wait or just a general greeting. WORST...

It’s more like 4 1/2 stars. Family of 4 with 3 adults and one teen. Place was clean, staff was friendly and competent. Atmosphere was inviting. I had the Belhaven pie very good, no complaints. Damn good pie. Wife had fish and chips. She preferred snapper but had cod and oily. It tasted good to me but it was her comment. Eldest son had bangers and mash. Great for the cost. Youngest son had a burger. He said it was delicious and he’d have a double if it was offered. I had a Guinness (prepared properly) and eldest had a Carlton. Tasty and cold both.
