I will echo the sentiment of a previous review later on but let's go from the start. Initial impressions were really good, restaurant was clean, fresh and well decorated. The lady who greeted me was very good, leading me through the menu explaining the dishes and chatting generally about the food and how it was "real" Indian not "Aussie" Indian. Unfortunately the food when I got it home was a complete disappointment, Chole Bhature- Chickpea curry with pooris and salad - a small container of chickpeas in a curry sauce and the peas were a very small quantity as was the salad, a mouthful at the very most. Then Coconut Kaju Curry - roasted cashew nuts, again a very minimal quantity, in a "rich and creamy coconut sauce" - it was water thin, with flat bread. If it wasn't for the pooris and flat bread it would have been a very meagre meal. We did have a starter, Vegetable Handvo - a savoury cake made with lentils and "lots of vegetables" - I must have missed those!! Now I have read it fully the menu seems to revolve around Chickpeas, Potatoes, Lentils and Spices. Don't "real" Indians have veg the same as Aussies, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, beans, onions??? Perhaps my expectations were too ambitious? I should add that the flavours of the food were excellent. As per a previous reviewer quantity of food and price were disproportionate and unless I hear or read better reviews I cannot see us going back again. For less than the price I paid I could have bought two large vegetarian pizzas with a lot more vegetables and as...
Read moreFinally had a chance to visit Twin Flame Vegan Vegetarian restaurant. The decor is colourful and gives us a feeling of being in an Indian quarter somewhere else ie it reminded me of having a meal in Little India in Singapore. We order a platter for 2 and 2 mini meals. I really enjoyed the platter, the 2 condiment sauces were yummy, the coriander one had a bit of a spice kick to it and went really well with the pani puris, the momos were moist and melted in our mouths and the spring rolls were sooooo good! Our mini meals, portion wise, were bigger than I had expected and really filled me up. I had a chickpea curry with 2 generous serves of fluffy chewy bhatures with pickled onions and mango chutney on the side. My husband had dosas with mustard seeds, potatoes and mustard leaves/cabbage and it was also very yummy. His came with a brothy yellow curry and a coconut sauce. Really happy with the meal and had depth of flavour in all of our dishes. Each dish was distinctly different. Had just recommended my family to try out Twin Flame Vegan Vegetarian sometime and I know we will definitely be back again. Service was also good, the main guy came out twice to ask how was the food and if everything...
Read moreI was quite disappointed with the food and overall experience. The noodles were bland and tasteless. The aloo paratha and chhole were dry. Dosa was soggy as well. We ordered 4 unlimited thalis where it was to be 15 items but received only 14 items in total, including cucumber slices as salad, rice, and roti.
We were surprised to see onion curry, which felt like a cost-cutting measure. The main items included only one mixed vegetable, one dal (lentils), papad, raita, and pakoda. According to the menu, only dal, mixed vegetables, rice, and roti were part of the "unlimited" offer, which is misleading given the price. The rice tasted like it was cooked with soda, which was unpleasant.
Additionally, we had to wait a long time to get the thalis initially, and the wait continued for additional servings. We used our hands to eat our food , our hands were getting dried on waiting for additional serve of food .When it was 9:30, the wait staff came to us and said the kitchen was closed and they could not serve any more food. This sounded more like a warning than a polite notice.
The so-called "unlimited" thali felt like a scam given the quality and food items included. Overall, very...
