DOG LOVING VENUE in PERTH! Discovered this charming cafe, only steps away from the Maylands Train Station. What caught my eye was the name AND the cutest painted geese feet throughout! Once you take a seat, you will open your eyes to the fun n quirky goose-themed decor and small touches. I see the strengths in their menu is geared towards hearty breakfasts and a lunch/dinner menu after 2PM I indulged in the delectable Squid Ink Prawn Linguine .. an absolute knock out 10/10 Presentation Flavor Quality and Technique. Chef kiss Stand out experience from dining at the Silly Goose are their PEOPLE I found they exhibit genuine warmth in their service delivery & product knowledge. I was very taken with their excitement with seeing dogs. I bought my chihuahua in and hostess, Layla, told me she found meeting people’s dogs one of her favorite things working at the Silly Goose. I highly recommend Silly Goose for your early morning coffee n breakfast options, a sneaky cocktail or a delicious dinner. The ambience and food flavours was a pure joy to the senses Keep up the amazing experiences Silly Goose!

Nice casual restaurant in Mayland. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, very good sized portions, and a comfortable relaxing atmosphere. There's a range of seating, outdoor under big umbrella on picnic tables, an alfresco like area and indoor tables. A good kids play area with toys to use, in an open fenced off area. Ordered a pandan drink, which has a lot of flavour but a little too sweet for my liking. Food was the fried sweet potato stack with two poached eggs, signed by Greek yoghurt and sweet chilli sauce; that was very really tasty and filling. The other meal was the high protien breakfast, which is a great variety of little portions; smashed avo, grilled tomatoe, slices of bread loaf, surprisingly tasty grilled kale, chickpeas, smashed beetroot spread, and sweet potato wedges roasted. It's a feel good healthy meal! Come try this place, it's where Brixton yard used to be, another great cafe has continued on. You'll leave full and feeling good.

We need to be thankful that our golf club’s kitchen was not open on Monday as we were able to find this beautiful and amazing cafe instead! The staff were incredibly friendly and patient as we were in a big group of eight. The food came out quite quickly which was good as we were apprehensive of whether or not we had the time to get back to the golf course. The food is also a whole new story as it was very scrumptious. The Polenta Benedict’s were superb as the polenta was crispy and flavourful while the egg yolks flowed like golden lava. I also liked the touch of grilled asparagus which added a charred kick to the dish which elevated the very nice hollandaise sauce. Honestly, this place is so good where I would think that there’s no necessity to eat at out clubhouse anymore 🤣

We went to silly goose for brunch today and it was simply the worst food experience I’ve ever had. Myself, my wife and 2 young daughters arrived about midday. We found a table ourselves as there was no staff to be seen. I went inside to find menus. The staff then came to the table and asked if we wanted water and we said yes, she then brought 2 glasses even though there was 4 of us. We ordered coffee and food, and she came back 10 mins later and said “we don’t have skimmed milk” even though our coffees were all full cream milk. The waitress came out with our food and walked around looking for us then went back inside 3 times to ask the manager which table the food was for. The “nosh bowl” was the most flavourless boring and frankly disgusting food I’ve had in recent years. We got bacon on the side which was cold. The “SSB BIG BREAKFAST” was full of the cheapest and worst Ingredients. Clearly all coles bought food. Hash brown was a cheap frozen one. Bacon was cheap and cold, eggs were cold, toast was clearly coles basic bread, mushrooms weren’t cooked, and their “home made beans” were cheap tinned beans with capsicum added to make look “fancy” When I went to complain to the waitress, she kept nodding saying “thank you” because she couldn’t understand what I was saying. The manager came over and I explained it to her and she offered us $7 off. So it came to $67 instead of $74. I genuinely hope that nobody else makes the mistake of going to this awful place. Our whole family has been feeling sick since we left the place. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!!

UPDATE “RESPONSE TO OWNERS COMMENT” Our kids didn’t go into your “play area” once while we were there, and we only picked at the food when I complained. The manager didn’t go to our table and check our plates, nor did she offer anymore than a $7 reduction. Also as the owner, you weren’t at the premises when this happened and your side of the story is...

I'd love to love the place, unfortunately it has been one disappointment after another. The last couple, was a 1.5 hour wait for food met with a half hearted apology and no compensation (a drink or little something would have shown care for your customers), being charged for the credit card fee when paying cash (that was rectified when I asked for my receipt...) and being charged $3 for some ketchup to go with our chips (without being told beforehand of the cost). All that while being regular customers. I understand it is a business but hospitality should be a focus and this business lacks it.

In reply to your reply. The lady owner took our order. I asked about it 1h15 minutes later (we are patient people) and the lady appeared surprised. She came a couple of minutes later to "confirm" our order instead of just acknowledging she had forgotten about it. Forgetting to put an order happens, it is just better to acknowledge it, apologise and offer a drink. As for the surcharge, the guy behind the bar assumed I was going to pay card and gave me the price with the surcharge added to it. I paid cash, which he took, put into the register and gave me the change. I asked for my receipt. That is when he realised he had not given me the right change. I did not particularly enjoy this. As for the ketchup, my apologies, I did not see it on the menu. That was actually the last straw for me unfortunately and it drove me to write this review. I had let both previous experiences slide even though I wasn't...

We were really looking forward to trying the Silly Goose Cafe, especially since we had a reservation, but unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable.

When we arrived, there was no clear signage or direction on where to go. We walked up to the front of the café where staff were making coffees, but we were ignored for about 20 seconds before anyone acknowledged us. Despite having a reservation, they couldn't find our booking and we only got a table because another couple happened to be leaving.

The table was dirty — I sat down and got avocado on my hand, which was an unpleasant start. Other guests were brought water automatically, but we had to ask for it, and when it arrived it had a strange, off taste.

We ordered our food and drinks, but things felt rushed and disorganized. While I understand the staff were trying their best under pressure, the experience suffered. Our food came out before our coffees, and to make matters worse, I had ordered a latte but was given a cappuccino instead.

My meal arrived stone cold. No one came over to check on us or ask why I hadn’t touched my food. When we went to pay, I explained that my food was inedible and left untouched — but we were still charged full price with no refund offered.

All in all, it was a frustrating and disappointing visit. The staff seemed overwhelmed, the service was sloppy, and the food quality just wasn’t there. Unfortunately, we won’t...
