Avoid! The WORST Thai food I have ever experienced. Claims to be ‘Authentic Thai cuisine’ — trust me, it isn’t. Sugar, sugar, and MORE SUGAR. We ordered the chicken satay entree, which was drenched in a disgustingly sweet sauce that tasted like peanut butter from a jar with sugar added to it. Next, the Tom Kha Gai soup was mediocre at best, lacking that dimension of flavours (ginger, lemongrass, chili, etc.) that a classic Tom Kha should have. Every single sauce was lifeless and one dimensional, lackluster, and super sweet. It’s abundantly clear that the chefs here are NOT Thai, nor do they have any classical training in Thai cooking. Instead, this place is trying hard to grab the low-hanging fruit of pumping everything with sugar, to hide behind their utter cluelessness. By contrast, truly authentic Thai cuisine should be layered with a complex dance of flavours and fresh ingredients — this was nothing even close to that. You’d do better to buy a DIY at-home Thai kit from the grocery store and save your money — it’d be the same level of quality offered here. I ordered a yellow curry dish that was so sweet, my partner and I both winced upon first tasting it. And, as if that wasn’t enough, the dish was not even served with rice…? Who serves a curry without rice? Waitstaff are halfhearted and unenthusiastic, basically a bunch of teenage Australian girls hired to do temp work for summer. Bottom Line: These people have absolutely no clue about traditional or authentic Thai food or how to serve it. Sickly sweet and barely edible....
Read moreOur experience was good, but not what we expected. We ordered coconut rice, a prawn Tom Yum soup, Penang Curry and Ginger Pork Stirfry - which came to a total of $70. Pricey when you see the size of the takeaway containers the food came in. The Tom Yum soup was flavoursome however only contained three prawns and few vegetables- mostly carrot and onion. The Ginger stirfry was probably the best dish, contained a good ratio of vegetables to meat and the Ginger definitely made an impression. The Penang curry was probably the most disappointing dish - the chicken wasn’t cut small enough and the vegetables in the dish were only pumpkin and sweet potato! We’ve never had a Penang curry with huge chunks of pumpkin and sweet potato before! They looked like ‘filler’ in what is a very simple dish, and carbs on top of rice!? Really!?!??? Having said that, the curry was tasty - so not great, but...
Read moreYes the service is alittle bit lacking though give young people a go. As for The restaurant and presentation it was great. Very clean, organised and easy to walk in from off the street. It had some authenticity feeling about it which was nice. I spend a lot of time and have lived in Thailand for many years. I don’t generally go out for Thai in Australia though my friend really felt like Thai. So here is the breakdown…. We ordered fish cakes which were flavoursome, garlic/pepper chicken stir fry (chicken tender, vegetables crisp n fresh and sauce delicious. Tom Yum goong (salty, sour n sweet and so so fresh and the prawns 🦐 were of great size. Tom Kai seafood simply irresistible. The creaminess of the coconut soup and touch of sourness was so nice. Sitting out front with the sea breeze was an added bonus. For Thsi food in Australia and location l would...
