I arrived this morning with two small children to grab some coffee and breakfast. I ordered two coffees and two cinnamon rolls, expecting something soft and fresh like the cinnamon rolls I usually get in my country or other places I visit as a tourist. I saw one cinnamon roll on the counter with other cakes, so I assumed we would receive the order right away. No one informed me that I would have to wait 15 minutes for the roll, or that it wasn’t freshly baked but frozen. When it finally arrived, the kids were excited—it looked nice with frosting and some fruit on top. But the moment we took the first bite, we realized it was hard as a rock and very dry—impossible to cut with a fork. To me, it felt like a three-day-old pastry that had just been reheated and topped with fresh frosting. I wanted to say something right away, but there was a long queue at the bar. I didn’t want my kids to eat it, but they were too hungry so they ate half of each. When I eventually spoke to the staff, they told me the roll wasn’t old—it had been baked, frozen, and possibly overheated. They offered another cake as compensation, but we didn’t have time and didn’t want anything else to eat after that so we left. Since we paid 17 euros for two coffees and two cinnamon rolls, I felt I had to share this experience for future customers. And to the manager and staff: I’m not here to teach you how to handle these situations, but the least you could’ve done was cancel the order and offer a refund. Also, let’s be honest: a reheated cinnamon roll can never compare to a freshly baked one. I wonder—have you ever actually tried the cinnamon roll you’re selling for 4.5 euros? If you want to serve it this way, maybe consider half-baking it and finishing it fresh for each order. But most importantly, customers should be informed that it’s not fresh and that it requires time to be reheated.

I think it's hard to make a stand-out espresso drink. Maybe it's because I prefer "American" coffee, but I find that the cappuccinos at a chain café taste to same as the cappuccinos at an independently owned place. All that being said, I've come to prefer Ducks to all of the other coffee shops in Graz. The drinks taste smooth and the vibe is chill. I usually order an espresso macchiato or cappuccino. And, I adore the logo.

I came here to try and test their coffee. Sadly, I must admit that it was a disappointment.the barista wasn’t aware of what was happening. There was no selection of beans. The grounds/water ratio of the coffee was too low therefore, the espresso was over extracted and tasted, therefore burnt and too sour for my taste. While the cups were cute they didn’t make up for the taste, which was rather disappointing.

We had our breakfast there approximately at 10:30 on Sat., 19 October. The cafe was in principle nice, rather crowded, but several small tables were still available. A queue of 3-5 ppl to order your food/drink at breakfast rush hour seems to be normal. Simple procedure: order, pay for and pick up your food/drink at the same spot - ordinary self service, we had nothing against that

+Pluses+: Gut coffee, tasty food, reasonable prices and nice, but very limited staff (a least at the counter).

-MINUSES-: The rather simple food that I ordered and already payed for, to my astonishment, was not only not ready in 15-20 minutes, but it hadn't even started cooking! Oops! :( Of course, after my reminder I got it within the next 5 minutes with apologies
but and my coffee was long gone by that time. However, that problem, unfortunately, has spoiled our initial positive impression of...

Local, women owned, LGBTQ+ friendly, self-service cafe with comfy seating, good food, and tasty drinks. They offer free water as well. Coffee quality is above average to high quality - tea is high quality. They offer milk substitutes, and some vegan/veggie food options. Love the lighting, decoration, and vibe overall. Feels homey and welcoming. Staff is extremely friendly. You must try their baked goods! A big plus is that the menu has been painted onto the wall in big print - so it's very easy to order. Personally, one of my top 4 cafes in Graz.

Recommendation: Grazer Fog / Dirty Chai + Vegan Banana bread with peanut butter and chocolate...
