Restaurant Akropolis — Restaurant in Salzburg

Six of us New Yorker travelers were hungry for decent food contains sea food and vegetables after having been eating porks and potatoes for three consecutive days in Praha. Yes, we were sick and tired of them. So this place was like an oasis in desert to us. We loved most of the foods there but our favorite dish was Kalamaria & Midia Psita, grilled baby calamari. For two nights and three days while we stayed in Salzburg, we went this place twice. The owner Nikos was Greece born Salzburgian, like us Korean Americans. He was fun, kind, and warm hearted person. The building looks quite boring outside (nothing that could be associated with the promising name: "Akropolis") but the popularity and the warm atmosphere of the place can be seen from the street and the welcoming smiles. The kitchen and the service are EXCEPTIONALLY EFFICIENT - dining room is full of people but not a minute of waiting. The whole team works for every customer. (12 points to the manager!) I usually like Mediterranean but today, being in Austria, I selected only pork with creamy mushroom sauce. It came faster than I could finish the small salad (from the house). I was staying at a hotel near the restaurant. We arrived a bit late by Salzburg standards (9 pm) so nothing was open for dinner. We stumbled upon this place while we were trying to get to the McDonald's, and I'm so glad we decided to give this place a go! The staffs were very friendly and very chill, which was great, the food was served promptly and everything tasted great! The price was also very reasonable especially compared to other restaurants in Salzburg and in Europe. We went back the next evening to have dinner.
