Although the restaurants offering subcontinent food have been increasing in Vienna, hardly anyone of those has tried to keep authenticity of taste. But here at Ammi's Kitchen finally found a place who believes in preparing food without usual curry pastes and offering original taste.
Have done takeaway as well as dine-in (latter is recommended). Ordered so far Special bowl, Naan wrap, Biryani, Chicken Korma. Every dish has a very large portion size. Korma is enough for two people (with side added). The gravy was sufficiently spiced and chicken very soft/tender. The Biryani likewise was spicy enough and served with raita. The Naan wraps were pretty big, although the sauce makes them a bit soggy. And finally Naan were so soft and well prepared. The prices are what you would usually pay for individual dishes in subcontinent restaurants in Europe.
Inside the sitting area is rather limited (5-6 tables). Lighting and vibe could be improved (a bit dark at night) but that is a small downside compared to amazing food that you get here. Also would be great of chairs for small kids/toddlers could be available.
I have now nearly eaten at several subcontinent restaurants in Vienna - easily this is #1 in terms of taste.
Lastly the owners and staff here is super...
Read moreDuring my visit to Vienna, Austria, I had the pleasure of dining at Ammi's Kitchen, and I must say, it was a culinary experience to remember!
Starting with the naan, it was a true delight. Freshly baked and steaming hot, it was evident that it came straight from the oven. Each bite was a heavenly combination of soft texture and authentic flavor.
Moving on to the main courses, we tried the Chicken Korma and the Kima. The Chicken Korma, with its rich red sauce and tender chicken, was a true standout. Paired with fragrant basmati rice, it was a symphony of flavors that left me craving for more.
The Kima, made with seasoned ground beef, was equally impressive. The seasoning was just right, adding depth and complexity to the dish without overpowering the natural flavors of the beef. Paired with the naan, it was a match made in culinary heaven.
Overall, my experience at Ammi's Kitchen was exceptional. From the fresh naan to the flavorful main courses, each dish showcased the restaurant's commitment to authentic Indian cuisine.
If you find yourself in Vienna and craving some delicious Indian food, do yourself a favor and visit Ammi's Kitchen. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreThe food was so delicious and it was very yummy I liked it so much I would come here again if I come back to Austria. Also it’s halal which makes it even better as it is hard to find halal stuff in this country. The staff are very friendly. One of the only downsides is that the area where it is isn’t the greatest and also the place could do well will a refurbishment, but nonetheless it doesn’t change the quality of the food. Would recommend coming here. The white rice was delicious. The food was in great portions too so it was so hard to finish (I mean that in a good way)! The chicken korma was delicious too (like everything else)! The food was fabulous and it tasted homemade, which made it 10 times more tastier. The mango lassi was delicious with some almonds too and didn’t taste watery. The food tasted authentic. So in conclusion it was a very good restaurant!
