I am not a food critic and I do not claim to be one, but Bauernbrau made me feel like one. I went with my wife for lunch in Vienna and we both were shocked by the customer service, food quality, and overall experience! This place made us feel like royals coming in. Greeted at the door with a very kind smile and were seated in the middle of the restaurant overseeing the cozy bar behind and warm lights all around while perfectly enjoying the outside scene with the snow on the leafs. The staff explained all of our dishes and made such amazing recommendations with the beef! It was cooked perfectly with the right amount and quality of spices. The potatoes were crisp and just needed to complete the meal. I had the beef with onions and my wife had the beef goulash which was exquisite. Topped with the perfect desert of kaisermann (I know it is misspelled) with the hint of sweet and sour by the added plums. Bauernbrau was truly an amazing experience here in Vienna, and we really recommend it for authentic...

We got there because of the reviews and we got the grilled mix and the wild boar with a traditional soup as well. The soup I liked the least it was hot water with carrot pieces and some noodles and that’s not my idea of soup but anyway.. now as for the mix grill it was chicken breast and I think some turkey breast that i did not get which one was what from the taste along with French fries and the wild roar came with a Sause that in my opinion wasn’t that tasty combined and overall I wasn’t impressed by the food . Maybe we will give it another try some day but the thing is I am not a person who likes schnitzel so there are some other option such as burgers maybe we will try those . Last but not least we Did Not like the fact that when you ask for a glass of tap water they charge it if you do not have anything else as a drink even if you pay 30 euros each for food and that I find ridiculous especially when tap water in Vienna is drinkable . That is my view and I hope they are more...

We went to this particular restaurant for lunch on 24/12/2024 in the afternoon with my husband and our 1.5 year old baby. It was very cold outside since we were talking about the end of December. The baby was crying. They didn't give us a table, telling us that the whole restaurant was reserved even though the restaurant was empty when we went. They didn't let us sit down to eat for even half an hour so the baby could calm down. The baby and I sat outside in the cold on the seats of the restaurant and I breastfed him and no one from the restaurant cared if we were okay. This behavior is unacceptable. No one can behave so inhumanly towards anyone. I am from Greece and in Greece but also in any place I have visited, mothers with their children are treated with respect and not racist. Unacceptable behavior, I feel...

I am not that kinda person leaving a review of every visited place, but I can't skip this one! We visited this restaurant after a long 10 hours drive on our way back home from Switzerland. I have stayed more than 50 times in Vienna, and I thought I already knew the best places to eat Vienesse dishes. Well, I was wrong. This place is a hidden gem! Amazing food, a lot of choices (pork, beef, chicken schnitzel, cordon bleu, etc. Most of the places offer only the traditional one schnitzel of beef.) The staff is also top 👌 the two girls who served us (with blonde hair and with dark hair) were so friendly and kind! Not often to see! I wish them both all the best, God bless you! And of course, cheers to the chefs - really tasty food! Do not hesitate to visit this place. You will definitely come back for more!

We had an absolutely delightful experience at this authentic Austrian restaurant in Vienna! From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent—warm, agile, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was just as impressive. The mixed green salads were fresh, crisp, and beautifully dressed. The beef gulasch was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender, served with fluffy and flavorful slices of traditional Serviettenknödel (bread dumplings) that soaked up the rich sauce wonderfully. The house beers were fantastic—bold, smooth, and the perfect pairing for the meal. To top it all off, they treated us to a complimentary Manner wafer at the end, which was a sweet and thoughtful touch. Overall, this place truly captures the heart of Austrian hospitality and cuisine. Highly recommended!

I don’t usually visit the same restaurant more than once when I’m on holiday, but I had to make an exception for this one!! You can tell that there is real passion. We showed up the second time without a reservation, and the staff remembered that we preferred to sit outside last time. We were sat down inside and after a while they informed us a table cleared up outside despite being super busy. The food is incredibly delicious, the portions are very generous and the atmosphere is lovely! The prices are also very good for the quality. Would definitely recommend. If I could give more stars I would. PS. Don’t miss out on the delicious apricot ice cream dumplings
