We chose the Hotel Mercure Raphael Wien primarily for its convenient location near the Raimund Theater, and overall, our stay was satisfactory with a few caveats. Starting with parking, the hotel offers its own garage for €20 per day, which is a reasonable price. However, the entrance to the garage is extremely narrow, as often mentioned in reviews. It’s manageable for experienced drivers with smaller cars, but attempting it with an SUV could prove highly frustrating. The hotel itself is decent, though it shows signs of wear and tear. While cleanliness was acceptable, the visible wear on walls and furniture was noticeable and detracted from the overall impression. A renovation would be a worthwhile investment to truly meet the standards of a 4-star hotel. We stayed in a standard room facing the courtyard, which ensured a very quiet night. The heating worked, or at least the room was pleasantly warm, and the bed was comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. The TV functioned properly, and the bathroom was adequate, though it also showed some signs of wear. Breakfast was reasonably good for €20, offering a decent selection of items, and the service throughout our stay was satisfactory. The key selling point of this hotel is its location, especially for those attending a show at the Raimund Theater. Additionally, it provides a convenient base for exploring the city the following day. If you’re prioritizing proximity to the theater and don’t mind some imperfections, the Hotel Mercure Raphael Wien is a good choice.

Mercure Hotel Raphael Wien is located in one of the most beautiful locations in Vienna. Entire hotes is ready for renovation but our biggest complaint is the cleanliness of the room. The first room we got was disgusting to say the least. The bathroom was full of hair from the previous guest. Hairs stuck to the tiles in the bathtub as well as on the toilet salt. When we went down to the reception desk to complain and demand that someone clean the bathroom, all we got was that we are “very sorry” and that we should go down to the reception desk tomorrow morning and demand that it be cleaned. Since they were not able to clean the bathroom, in the end we got another room with a clean bathroom, but there we were awaited by another surprise. Under the rags on the floor is a dirty sock, also from the previous guest. In addition to this, there was also dust on the lamps, dusty windows (in both rooms). All in all a very bad experience. The hotel definitely does not deserve four stars, the only thing is that it is in a good location about half an hour's walk from the MuseumQuarter, a few minutes from Mariahilfer Strasse.

This hotel was OK. Room was somewhat good, although I didn't like the half-carpet half-wooden floor. Should be carpet everywhere. Not a big deal. Bathroom was a bit outdated, with a bathtub instead of shower cabin. Breakfast was good. Location is OK, walking distance to one of the main shopping areas in Vienna, but far from the historical center. Still, only a few stops away with the U-bahn. Parking is very tight, so if you're driving bigger than hatchback, better stop at the next parking that's a couple of minutes walk away. They will even advise you to do so, which is great. Service in general was excellent and I have no complaints here. They even fulfilled a special request that we had, that honestly was not fair from our side to ask for. Edit: This review is from 2019, got unpublished for some reason.

Rooms worn down, in desperate need of renovation. Located far away from the city center in an area that had quite a lot of substance abusers walking around.

Some evenings, the hotel reception was empty and anyone could access the floors (no key card needed for the elevators). One night I forgot my key card and reception just handed me a new one without checking my identity and whether I am a guest in the hotel.
