What a great place!
We wanted a family style tapas restaurant for a get together and Aspic fits that quite well.
We tried all the starters and the mains from the menu and were not disappointed. The dishes are creative, well constructed with a balanced taste profile. From the starters the stand out dishes were the Sweet potato with miso and the Burrata dish. The mains were equally fun but the star was the Sellerie dish with the consommé.
No dish was boring and everyone offered something interesting as part of the overall composition.
The service was a bit lacking this night but the waitress was immensely friendly - even threw in some deserts after forgetting our order of mains.
The menu is ever changing and unfortunately not available on either their website or their insta. But that is just a tiny nuisance in the overall experience.
Wines are all more towards the organic pet nat craze; something you want to be prepared for when coming here. not everybody's cup of tea taste wise.
Overall a lovely evening...
Read moreI must say it was the first time I have been misled from the reviews on google. We had made an online reservation a week ago just to be sure that we will find a table on a Tuesday night. When we arrived there the place smelled awful like they were frying on a bad oil. We sat outside, the host was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the pork belly, cauliflower and burrata with apricot. All the plates were too salty that we couldnt even have a second bite. The pork belly was supposed to come with mash potato and came with a potato that supposedly was baked in the oven and smelled like egg. It was the first time that I got actually afraid if I had food poisoning in Vienna. When we told this to the host she told us that it was the first time they were trying this menu with a new chef. I hope things will get better. Another worrying factor after seeing the reviews was that the latest review was a month ago and the rest were more than 6 months. I dont know if they have changed management. Always a window...
Read moreI've been here for lunch around 5 times now. They have a weekly changing menu with 4 options: vegan, vegetarian, meat and fish as well as a self-made lemonade. A lunch menu usually consists of three courses with a soup as starter, a main dish and a very small dessert.
The food quality is simply astonishing for a lunch menu. I've been been blown away by the meal every time. Especially fish can be hit or miss in lunch places but it's been absolutely perfect here so far. I can also recommend the self-made lemonade which isn't overly sweetened and has some interesting flavors like vanilla-rhubarb or rosemary-apple.
Aspic is my go-to lunch place if I'm having a meeting afterwards or I've been too lazy to prep...
