The food was horrible, - the service annoying Had tabuoleh and falafel as starter, the 'tabuoleh' was bulgur with a few traces of some kind of green leaves - and maybe a chopped piece of onion and it was dry - dry like - yes dried up bulgur.. Then the falafels.. - small even more dried up balls.. no taste at all, - or it have vanished due to way too many preheats or too long time in a oven.. - like the supposedly fried potatoes in the main dish - they seems to have been in the oven for hours. The main dish, chefs recommendation, file mignon, with fried potatoes and haricots verts and half a tablespoon pepoersauce. The filets was fried dead.. completely Grey inside and dry like the potatoes, if really squeeced you could get a tone of rosa. Together with the as good as not existing peppersauce this dish was as dry as the starter, partly better because the haricots verts was boiled and not steamed - way too boiled, but that brought some kind of moist to the dish. Dessert, - chocolate mousse - was nothing mousse like.. - more like a chocolatefromage.. - with taste and consistent like something from Dr. Otcker. The service was annoying - every 10.th.minute someone came by and asked if the delicious food tasted.. - always syncroniced with that you had something in your mouth trying to produce enough moist to be able to swallow, so that you wasn't able to answer. Plates and glasses was constantly removed from the table even if people wasn't finished. When asking for the bill and again when paying, the waiter kept pointing out that tips wasn't included.. So overall a big disappointment as we got the place recommended... - perhaps it was a too...
Read moreYou will eventually eat good here... ofcourse as soon as someone notice that your order is pending for more than 1,5 hour. Or if anybody will ever notice you have ordered something at all. Ofcourse you might also experience ZERO care from service, then it is up to you to inform someone that you just have been taken two hours from your life forced to look at huge mirrors that reflects sun straight into your bleeding eyes. Finally, when you get your meal, you might experience tastefull dish, but don't be so glad about that - the service staff will make sure that the whole stay in the restaurant is tasteless. Beside almost none of staff could speak basic english, none of waiters couldn't understand that if your cutlers are in use that means you still eat. I don't like to use this word but it is very rude, no matter how much money did one want to spend in their restaurant and believe me - we spent A LOT. You might ask three or even four times to have a talk with manager (to atleast get information what happened), but unless you stand up and go to find him yourself... dont count on it. Still, it is better for you to never find out about that unpleasant fact that manager knows everything about that situation and couldn't even SAY SORRY by himself. Is this Vien, or... maybe the manager is just my younger sister that is angry for my complaints? Yes or no, in the end it doesn't even matter. There are plenty of other restaurants and cafes in Vien I sincerely recommend to chose over this place, no matter how good the food is here. Thank you, hope to get a good reason to come...
Read moreRight off the bat, I didn't order here. However, I spent about 30 minutes in the cafe on a very hot day (35°C) and in the whole time I was there I was not even offered a water, even though the staff did notice me. There is no AC in the cafe and only the tables halfway outside underneath the marquis had a good airflow as to not get overheated.
The only thing they asked me, was a female staff member asking me how many people would sit at the table since I sat at a four person table, alone, because I was waiting for two of my friends who were running late due to work. I didn't mind them asking me, since the cafe was about halfway full, but I didn't understand why they wouldn't at least ask me if I wanted to drink something while I waited, especially in the heat.
After the 30 minutes passed and I knew I would have to wait another roughly 15 minutes for my friends, I decided to leave and go somewhere else.
I felt very uncomfortable, hot, and the staff ignored me after asking me one question.
I can't speak on any of the food quality or anything else above this, but I find it odd (even if French people have a stereotype of being rude), that they would not at least acknowledge a customer....
Anyway, my two friends really like the cafe otherwise and highly recommended the food, but perhaps don't come here when...
