Beautifull new place at Gumpendorfer Straße. The interior is amazing, it reminds me of modern bars in Berlin, London and Tokyo. They also have a beautiful set of speakers and a vinyl setup at the ready. As a new place, things might not be perfect, but here already lies my first complaint though. There is just way to little acoustic treatment for such a big room, you might as well put bluetooth speakers in the seeling as you will not be able to hear the quality of the speakers as it is now. The ambient noices, people talking, reverbarations of the music itself, etc. The Staff is slow, walks past new customers multible times without handing out menus. We waited for 5-10min before walking to the bar and getting our own menu. They seem to have no structure in place on who is running the grounds and who is manning the bar. We wanted to eat something, as people behind us were ordering food as well, when it was our turn though, only 1-2min later, they were apparently out. This was at 2pm, they say they serve breakfast until 4pm though. The coffee is amazing and more then fair in price. It seems they get their coffee from Caffe vom See, which is one of the most affordable, yet somehow also one of the best coffees you can get in Vienna. So seeing as we visited in their opening week, things will be rough and unpolished, but as one of our coffees came out wrong, we told them about it and first didn‘t even get a sorry, but a slightly weird remark, they did appolagize when serving the replacement though, so all good. What this does show though is, that there is the will to improve and become better and for a beuatiful place like this i do hope so, as this could be THE new in spot for young music loving...
Read moreGood food, non-existent service.
This place has a really cool vibe, nice people hanging around, looks perfect for Tiktoks and Instagram.
I really enjoyed the food, especially Eggs Benedict, Pastrami Sandwich, and French Toast. The food was ready within 10 minutes which is great for a full cafe.
But! The service here is non-existent. First, the staff here seemed to care about their friends and network much more than about their guests. Instead of handling the line and the full cafe, a lot of them were chatting with friends at the bar.
Getting at least hello at the entrance - no. No attention at all.
Getting a table? Try first come, first serve and only then you might get the menu, something like in 10-15 minutes when you finally get noticed.
Waiting for a bill? Another 15 minutes.
The cafe has 3 waiters and divided into 3 zones. But surprisingly they are running all over the place rather than focusing each on its own zone.
And the biggest mistery is the price of around 14-15 euros for Eggs Benedict. Slice of bread, a bit of spinach, almost transparent slice of ham and the small egg. I was really shocked when I saw the price and the final product. No...
Read moreWe have been there twice. The first time the service was okay. Even though I really liked the food and the design, I will not come back because the service during my second visit was so poor. Three waiters ignored me for several minutes while I stood waiting to be seated, not even a nod or a smile. When I finally approached the bar, they spoke to me reluctantly.
I took a table and waited again, and the place was not even full. When the waitress finally came and asked what I wanted to order, I told her I had not received a menu yet. She replied, “Oh, you need a menu?” as if I should know everything by heart. After a while I overheard her telling the table next to mine that they were out of food. I asked her again and she confirmed it.
My question is: why could this not have been said earlier? Why waste my time? This was on a Sunday around lunchtime when people still want to eat. Eventually, I left and went to the nearby Öfferl where the staff were professional and friendly and there was...
