I’m an American who’s visited Vienna a few times to visit friends. Brüder is easily one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in the city. The cocktails are beautiful and innovative, the food is wonderful, and you can tell that all the ingredients are sourced with great integrity and care. Within minutes of arriving and sitting down, you get a really strong sense of the creativity and passion behind the restaurant. Every staff member we interacted with was not only very kind and down to earth, but also seemed eager to educate us in detail about every menu item we asked about. The staff is also incredibly accommodating and will go out of their way to ensure that guests are able to experience the culinary quality and hospitality that this place has to offer. I showed up there kind of late one night with a big group of people after we left a movie at Topkino, and the restaurant was totally packed. Before we could even turn around to look for another place to eat, we were greeted by a host who explained that they weren’t sure how long it would take for a table to be available and said that the availability of menu items was limited because it was so late, but offered to let us sit by the window in the kitchen and have the chefs prepare us whatever they could with the ingredients they had left. We gladly took up the offer and ended up having an incredible and totally improvised meal which consisted of various hors d'oeuvres and a few rounds of local wines. They even gave us all a free shot of homemade tannenbaum liqueur which we all thought was delicious and tasted quite unique. By the end of the meal, they basically just came up to us and gave us a very modest and affordable price for the whole tab and asked if we were okay with it! That alone shows you how this place is not just a business, but a project dedicated to offering guests an experience of their culinary vision, delivered with plenty of sincerity. Long story short, this place is lovely in just about every way possible and I often find myself daydreaming about dining there again. The interior is gorgeous, by the way, and has a low-lit ambience that’s perfect for a date night. They also have live music sometimes which definitely adds to the warmth and local feeling of the place. Everyone that works there is super cool. I don’t know what else to say other than bravo. You guys are a perfect example of why I think Vienna has one of the best culinary scenes in the world. Bis zum...
Read moreBy far the best meal and restaurant experience we had in Vienna! I have to eat gluten free so before our trip I emailed Bruder and asked if they had gluten free options, they were amazing in responding to me and telling me they did in fact have gluten free options. Still, as someone that has to eat gluten free (though always thankful to the restaurants that can accommodate this need), you never know what that will really look like until you get to the restaurant. Well I can tell you it was an WONDERFUL experience. They were able to accommodate my gluten free needs in the tasting menu for items that I could not share with my husband. The food was absolutely amazing, but the gluten free options and per my husband the regular menu as well! In my opinion it felt like the feeling of getting to eat at a Michelin Star restaurant before it has its star and getting to say you ate there "pre-star". The drinks and atmosphere were excellent too. The service was exceptional, they truly made you feel heard and you can tell they love their restaurant and want to tell you all about the amazing food and drinks! A must...
Read moreGreat concept, delicious food, attention to detail and a lovely team! Everything looks very neat, and the fact that you can see the kitchen from the outside really builds trust in the process.
We chose the chef’s menu, which included several dishes, some from the regular menu and some off-menu. We discussed our allergies/intolerances as well as our time constraints (we had about 1.5 hours, actually a bit less). We were assured that the full menu would be served within this time.
Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get through all the courses and had to skip one of the intermediate dishes. To their credit, it was removed from our bill without any issue. Still, the pacing was slower than expected, so towards the end we felt a bit rushed.
That said, the food was truly excellent, and the service was wonderful, apart from the timing, which didn’t quite match our plan. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back. I’d happily recommend it to friends as well.
P.S: not all the dishes we had are on...
