Buffalo Hot Wings — Restaurant in Vienna

I am an American from upstate New York, and have been living in Vienna for the past 20 years. I was always a huge fan of Buffalo wings, and basically resigned myself to never having a decent wing again, except when travelling to the US. This place was recommended to us by another New Yorker we bumped into at a local market, and he was spot on. I spoke briefly with the owner - he lived in Canada for a bit, and loved the wings so much, he decided to open a business here. I could immediately tell that these were different than others in Vienna.

As far as I am concerned, these are not only the best Buffalo wings in Vienna (all Austria?), they are the only Buffalo wings. Most other restaurants' wings are so far off that they shouldn't even be compared - most are not fried, the sauce is always BBQ, no spicy options except pepper taste, and celery/bleu cheese is hardly ever offered. I happily drive across the city to pick these up whenever we can - can't wait till COVID is done so we can eat them freshly made at the location. This is added to our list of regular takeout places now. The only suggestion I can offer is to have lunch options during the week so I can get these at work and get my coworkers hooked on this (again, more likely when COVID is over).

I really appreciated the restaurant being open on Christmas day. The food was delicious! I ordered the wings with buffalo sauce and wedges as a meal. The buffalo sauce was a nice spice level - I am hispanic and it is hard to find spicy food here in Vienna - and the wings were crispy on the outside but moist on the inside. The wings were honestly some of the best wings i have had. The blue cheese was the right balance between chunky and creamy. I could easily dip the wings without the sauce dripping off. The owner was really courteous and we struck up a conversation. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some spice...

Ich hatte bei diesem Restaursnt online zum Abholen bestellt. Es hieß es dauert etwa 20 min. Nach 20 Minuten komme ich bei dem Restaurant an. Der Besitzer sitzt gemeinsam mit anderen Männern am Tisch draußen vor dem Restaurant und unterhält sich mit Kunden/Freunden. Als er dann auf mich aufmerksam wurde meinte er er habe meine Bestellung vergessen und entschuldigte sich, meinte schließlich es wird nochmal etwa 10 min dauern. Ich wartete also vor dem Restaurant und wurde währenddessen von den älteren Herren, den Bekannten des Besitzers, mehrmals angesprochen, ob ich mich nicht zu ihnen setzen wolle und etwas mit ihnen trinken möchte, was mir als junge Frau um 22 Uhr, die nachts alleine unterwegs ist, etwas suspekt und sehr unangenehm war. Ich habe mich nicht wohl gefühlt. Nach einiger Zeit (etwa 20 min) war meine Bestellung dann fertig und ich habe sie im Laden abgeholt. Der Besitzer entschuldigte sich nochmal. Im Laden fiel mir allerdings auf, dass es wirklich nicht sauber war und sehr seltsam gerochen hat. Der Arbeitsbereich sah unappetitlich und dreckig aus. Auf jeden fall nicht so wie es in einem Restaurant sein sollte. Der Außenbereich hingegen sah einigermaßen gemütlich aus. Die Wings konnte man essen, lecker waren sie aber wirklich nicht. Sie schmeckten leicht angebrannt und die Soße schmeckte als wäre sie schon eine sehr lange Zeit in der Wärme gestanden, also fast schon verdorben. Ich weiß nicht ob dies eine Ausnahme war, weil mich die ganzen guten Bewertungen sehr überrascht haben, aber ich würde dort auf jeden Fall nicht mehr bestellen.
