Cafe Stein — Restaurant in Vienna

First, i loved the food and i would have loved to receive the same service. Not the case. I did work in 5* environment in the past and until today, hospitality workes never cease to AMAZE me what do they expect the tips for? for the fact that you kicked me out of terrace which is set up with menus, cuttlery, ashtray and umbrellas ready for customers but you are lazy to serve there? (and next table is seated there by your colleague who doesnt mind). Wanna tip for collecting plate but never came back to see if we want coffee? for letting us sit 20 mins and ignoring when i try to get your attention to pay? what do you want the tips for DEAR WAITERS? i could have easily left without paying although you had no tables outside and very few inside - i still went to the 'bar' to ask for bill. A waiter told me the amount to be paid but HIGHLIGHTED with the tone of his voice the service is not included. are you for real ?...

We sat down and the table was dirty and nobody cleaned it. The server came quickly but we were not ready yet so we ordered a STILL water. The water came and it was sparkling. We overlooked that, however a glass was very dirty with orange bits. When the server came, a lot later, I noted the dirty glass and the response was, without looking at the glass, “it is water”. After they agreed it was orange colour, they asked if I would like another glass. About the coffee, it was pretty good. We ordered 4 coffees and they came in 4 different glassware. One of the glasses was even chipped. I would not recommend this place based on my quick experience. I do not know...

The location and food is good. The chicken sandwich was breaded and perfectly fried and was enjoyed by my children. Only two stars due to rude and tardy service. We were obvious English speakers, and were only given German menus when there are plenty of English menus on hand. I asked for a burger plain with meat and bun only due to a dairy allergy, and it came loaded with everything. The waiters hush and snap at you when you ask for something, and made rude remarks at the mess that my children left under the table. Crumbs and napkins, which I picked up.
