Got here at 10:52 on Sunday the 22nd. We were told we had to wait to order food even though the restaurant was half empty (apparently there were a lot of orders). We ordered 2 meals and a platter of mostly no cooked food. We waited 55 minutes and were literally in the process of leaving when the waitress brought our food, no apology for the wait or anything. The food wasn’t bad, but definitely not worth 55 minutes of waiting, especially since the food was mostly uncooked and completely cold. Cold bacon, cold eggs. The waitress then brought out the platter of uncooked food. 55 minutes of waiting for uncooked food/cold food is too much for me. My girlfriends avocado was unripe and had the avocado skin on it still. I also ordered a side of salmon, which was actually store bought and tasted bad. All in all, the food wasn’t bad but definitely not worth a 55 minute wait, especially since the restaurant was only half full and the food was mostly uncooked.
Edit: since you took the time to reply, I thought I’d re-reply. I’m not sure what the marathon has to do with anything. we were not warned about a delay in getting food, we were just told not to order for 10 minutes. the restaurant was not full. The inside was nearly empty, which is why we chose to sit inside. the orders are not “in order”. There was a couple that sat down next to us after we ordered and they got their food 20 minutes before us. They even had desert served before we got our food. And another pair that sat down to our left about 20 minutes after we got there. They ordered 2 platters of uncooked food and got it before we got our food. So no, your orders are obviously not handled “in order”, and apparently yes, uncooked food orders have priority over cooked food. Bacon and eggs takes less than 10 minutes to cook. I have been in several restaurants since this and ordered bacon/eggs and had the food come out within 10 minutes each time. I don’t think that a 55 minute waiting time can be justified by saying it took that long to cook. aha, I wasn’t aware that Vienna is not located next to the sea (sarcasm). You should indicate when food is store bought and not prepared locally. Besides this, if you claim to prepare food “to order”, you should also smoke your own salmon — a task that can be done regardless of the location of your restaurant. the food would be too cold for anyone, not just me. I don’t know any place that serves cold bacon and eggs that are freshly cooked. again, the food wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t worth the wait.
All in all, your response doesn’t seem to be apologetic at all, and you’ve even made up part of it (the order of orders/fullness of the restaurant). I don’t think there’s anything wrong with me being upset at having to wait 55 minutes for cold food, and I’m not sure why you’re justifying it with excuses that are lies.
Perhaps you should apologize and utilize my criticism by trying to solve these obvious problems. Obviously your staff are slow at cooking. The fact that I’m not the only reviewer with this problem is evidence enough. Moreover, ignoring the problems brought up by customers will only decrease your profits over time. If I didn’t care I wouldn’t review, which would mask these problems from you. I wrote here only to let you know what’s wrong so that you can fix it. If your ego is too big to apologize (a restaurant owner with a big ego who can’t take criticism, how unheard of) and fix your problems brought up by me, then maybe you’ll learn...
Read moreAfter randomly stumbling upon this restaurant, we were very pleased with their small but delicious sounding menu. We came in around 6 or 615 pm and the perfect dimly lit space was about 1/3 of the way full. The waitresses quickly took our order of the following: Oriental beef burger, Tagliatelle with grilled zucchini Eggplant-halloumi rolls grilled on spicy tomato sauce And the Oriental salad It did seem to take a little long to get the dishes, but once we did we were in were in taste heaven!
We ordered additional chicken to accompany the pasta and salad which was unfortunately too dry to cut and almost to eat. The pasta was a tad surprisingly spicy but still delicious. The burger and the Salat had amazing flavor, especially then goat cheese filled dates(best part) , and were definitely our favorites. The burger came with a few fries and some excellent sauce for dipping. The eggplant rolls had a decent flavor, but the halloumi cheese could have been a little softer. Over all the portions were perfect. The amount we ordered was just perfect to share everything and not be overly stuffed. The prices were pretty good too, though the burger (11.5 Euro) was a tad pricey. This is a very casual restaurant and relaxing environment to eat, drink coffee, or surf the web (free but...
Read moreI came here a couple of days ago with a friend for late brunch and coffee and was outright disappointed. I would love to hear the experiences of people with 5 stars? The food was extremely slow to come out and was really expensive for what it is, and wasnt good quality at all. The cafe wasnt busy by a long stretch, yet the lady who served me acted like she was in a huge rush with no care for the service aside from the payment at the end and treating us like a nuisance. As I said before the cafe was EMPTY yet the lady insisted on moving us back and forth to keep open a table for the possibility of a larger amount of guests (which never came), even though we had far too much food for the only small table we were allowed to sit on, not to mention the lady was pure rude about it. At least one of the waitresses was trying to make it easier and accommodating for us, hence the only reason we give two stars. Okay coffee and occasionally some nice waiters, that's about it.
Also, after reading the previous reviews it sounds like the owner needs to take some responsibility rather than asking for the date and time to look for...
