The Hundertwasser House in Vienna is a truly unique and interesting architectural marvel that is not to be missed during a visit to the city. Designed by the Austrian artist and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser, the building is a riot of color, shapes, and textures, with no straight lines to be found anywhere.
One of the most interesting facts about the Hundertwasser House is that it was designed to be a living work of art. Hundertwasser believed that traditional architecture was boring and soulless, and so he sought to create a building that was alive and organic, with each element flowing seamlessly into the next. The result is a building that looks like it has been grown rather than built, with curved walls, irregularly shaped windows, and a roof that is covered in grass and trees.
Another interesting fact about the Hundertwasser House is that it was built on top of an old heating plant, which is now incorporated into the design of the building. The old industrial elements of the heating plant, such as the chimneys and pipes, are left visible and are integrated into the overall design of the building, giving it a sense of history and depth.
In addition to its unique and eye-catching design, the Hundertwasser House is also home to a variety of cultural and artistic events, including exhibitions, concerts, and workshops. It is therefore not only a beautiful building to look at, but also a lively and dynamic place to visit. Overall, the Hundertwasser House is a must-see destination for anyone interested in architecture, art, or just something a little...
Read moreI (Eli) love art in Mosaic, imagine when I saw that in Vienna there is practically an entire building made by Mosaic pieces, including a small village and a Shopping mall.
This is Hundertwasserhaus, a apartment house located walking distance from two metro stations that was built after the idea and concept of Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser with architect Joseph Krawina as a co-author. The artist focused in architecture, combined an unique style mixing art in mosaic, fun colors and gardening giving harmony with nature and man to this cool village and you will find not only a building apartment but a village that included cafes, souvenirs stores, fountain and even a small shopping mall that even the bathroom is totally different and colourful decorated with mosaic tiles.
We would suggest you check the many pictures and their website before to take a decision to visit the place, because we spent a couple of days in Vienna and we had a spare time to go there and visit since we liked the idea to visit a different place in Vienna and a different neighbourhood than the touristic and historic Old town, but if you just have time enough to visit the main attractions that the city has to offer you might not be interested on this kind of architecture. However overall we spent a great time there.

Read moreThe Hundertwasser House (German: Hundertwasserhaus) is an apartment building in Vienna, the capital city of Austria, designed by the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
The Hundertwasserhaus (House of the Hundredwaters) on Landstrasse is at number 34-38 Kegelgasse. This house or art house, which is adorned with the most interesting, is different from many city houses built by the City of Vienna in 1983-1986. The biggest difference from other houses is that no flat elements are used anywhere in the building and the outer surface is colorful.
It was planned by the architect Joseph Krawina and implemented by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who was the artistic side of the main work. The building, whose terraces are greened with 250 trees, is an interesting structure in every aspect.
The building has a total of 52 apartments and 4 shops, and the terraces on the building resemble a large garden. This building, built by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, is one of the buildings that attract the most tourists in Vienna.
Friedensreich Hundertwasser said: "The painter imagines the houses and architectures in which he wants to be free and realizes them."
As with every beautiful work, this building also needs extensive renovations that require large sums of money due to the soft materials used. Work in this direction continues by the...
