The cafe itself is very nicely decorated and the food was good. However, one member of staff was extremely rude. We were a group of 4 to have breakfast. When one of us was walking in to see where to sit, she was immediately confronted by this staff member who said " why are you walking around, sit down". When another member of our group stood up to ask for the toilets, she said: "You are not the only guest here!". It was quite simply complete and utter unsolicited rudeness. When we asked for the bill we asked if service was included, the staff member only responded " you didn't leave a tip and still you are laughing". No attempt to make us feel welcome, no attempt to clarify things. This is not the way you treat paying guets and it was an embarrassment to my guests. It is simply not acceptable. I complained to a more senior looking staff member that that staff member was extremely rude and that we will never...
Read moreAtmosphere, food and drinks are excellent. However, people work there are extremely rude. I am speaking about the young man with curly long blonde hair. He needs alot to learn how to deal with people especially tourists. It seems that they want Austrian customers only!!! I used to go to this cafe every time i visit vienna. But not any more. I asked frankly before sitting if i can take one table outside. He said ok, no table reserved and chose any one. After a while, some Locals talked to him pointing to my table then he came to me telling that the table is reserved and he said that he thought i was speaking about another tables!! Even he said no table reserved minutes ago. Then, I asked him if possible to take small table outside, he denies and frankly asked me to leave !!! Really !! Definitly, I ll...
Read moreThis review is meant only for the Café, as I haven't ever had lunch or dinner in the restaurant. To the café I went several times , mornings and afternoons and I have had good time there. Outdoors by the fountain, is very nice, especially in the springtime with all the flowers. I also found the interior (the smoking room) very comfortable and cozy. The place was luminous and quiet in the mornings, one could read, surf, while sipping at a nice wiener coffee. I never had any issues with the waiters, the service was fast and polite, in fact, I am surprised at the horror stories I read here. The café is dog friendly, as most places in Austria. I would recommend to visit, if you reside nearby or want to try the experience of an old Viennese café, far from the...
