Came to this restaurant because of its reviews and tried several times also throughout a period of time, thinking it was unfair to judge just with one visit. After getting to know more about this restaurant, I cannot leave a positive review because it is lies and fake 100%. Visiting the website, you see nice video of bbq. Don't know where they got the animation from, but it is def not from the restaurant (tried ordering myself). Next lie that the restaurant exists more than 10 years. Know it was a family-run restaurant by lovely Mrs. Kim and it was bought by big local restaurant chain, I cannot understand why they spread wrong information. Still don't know where they took the photo on their website with people eating in their restaurant on huge wooden tables. Neither the old restaurant nor the new one look like this. Maybe photo is stolen from some other place. But why put it on own website? When visiting, staff and menu always underline everything is fresh and made by the chefs. They think customers are stupid... Gun Mandu are not selfmade, as well as their kimmari or fried shrimp. All convenience bought stuff. After hearing they don't even make their own Kimchi as a korean restaurant with its name, I was shook. As it is part of a huge chain they produce it somewhere else and deliever to their outlets. Also tried their Jjigae stew. Size of the soup plate was so small, even my cellphone was bigger than the size of the pot... Final lie is about their dessert. The menu states again selfmade. Tried their pudding, definitely not selfmade, had same in Akakiko. Brownie was worst brownie I tasted with convenience whipped cream decoration, cheesecake just tastes artificial, like gelee, also saw it on Akakiko before. Service is cold as ice. They do their job. That is all. No smile. No checking. Sometimes just chatting and not paying attention to guest. Was treated differently than korean guests. No free coffee for us, but only for korean (tourists?). Maybe you need connection to the manager and OK for me because main target group seems korean tourists or korean tourist group. Wonder if this restaurant is popular with local guests. Very angry and disappointed because this restaurant is not honest and all lies, false marketing only all about money. It is okay to use some help and convenience product and nice marketing pictures. But this amount of lies is too much. Will not come back because of dishonesty and cold service. Avoid this place and...
Read moreLet me start off by pointing out, that my low rating is mainly due to the bad service and overall bad treatment that we received during our visit and not so much about the food it self. For starters, we were offered a table not in the main hall but in a second smaller room, which was understandable as we made a short notice reservation, the problem however was that after ordering we got our drinks, but the food never arrived. We tried to be understanding, thinking that maybe they were busy and that's why it was taking so long, but after waiting for almost 45 mins and noticing that other costumers that arrived later then us, already got their orders we finally tried to get the waiter's attention, which let me tell you wasn't easy?? As even after making eye contact with them, they kind of brushed us off. Anyhow, after a while a different waitress came and we explained the whole situation, she simply said ok, walked away and we were left dumbfounded. After a while our first waiter returned and he asked as to order again, as it appeared the kitchen never even got our order. At this point we were quite annoyed ( let's no forget hungry) because we had been waiting for longer than an hour and the restaurant was supposed to close in one hour or so, meaning that even if we got our food we would have to eat it in a hurry. We can accept that mistakes like that can happen, but the fact that we didn't even receive a proper explanation ( not even a simple oopsie daisy sorryy) regarding our long wait or some kind of reimbursement even though our order was not minor ( neither our bill), just shows that they don't value the costumer and that's definitely not the way you conduct business. Lastly when it comes to the food the quality was fine, but it must be noted that the dishes were a bit more modernized and not as traditional, which wasn't necessary a bad thing, just not what we expected and wanted, if you would want to experience a more traditional Korean barbecue experience ( where the lettuce for the Korean barbecue isn't chopped like salad and you can do the grilling on your own) I would definitely recommend another more...
Read moreService is horrible, waiter is super rude and blunt? Made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome from the very moment we came in. I think this is racial.
Ordered Seafood Ramyeon, this is my 3rd Korean restaurant this week (my fav cuisine) and by far the WORST. Asked for it to be spicy, instead they gave me inedible food.
I've had Korean food more than 50 times, every time I ask for it to be spicy because I know my tolerance well.
When I say inedible, after the first sip of the soup I couldn't eat more. It was incredibly spicy, and somehow I felt like the waiter did it purposely. He was quite smug and snarky about it all. When I brought it up to him how I felt physically ill (hours later, I still feel incredibly ill) he told me that I asked for it to be spicy. You couldn't even taste the flavour. Multiple times I had to add tap water to the soup itself, even then it was inedible.
When he brought it back, he didn't say a single word, was incredibly rude and had no manners. He only came to us to ask us to pay as they were closing, and I thanked him for replacing my meal, he completely IGNORED me and took my payment? Horrible, mean and cold staff. If you're looking for good Korean food, with kind staff, come to London. You'll never be mistreated like this or feel...
