Gösser Eck Beer Bar — Restaurant in Vienna

The food was decent enough. My cordon bleu was flavourful with a generous portion size. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The accompanying potatoes were bland and seemed like an afterthought.

The service was disappointing from start to finish. When we requested an ashtray, the staff said they’d “see about it” and then completely ignored us. We ended up having to search for one ourselves. This set the tone for what felt like consistently indifferent service throughout our meal.

What struck me as particularly unreasonable was being charged for restroom access despite being paying customers. When we questioned this policy, the staff confirmed that yes, we still had to pay, and if we refused, they’d simply add it to our bill anyway.

The final insult came when we settled our bill. The moment our payment went through, the waiter just tossed the receipt onto our table and walked away without so much as a “thank you” or any acknowledgment whatsoever.

While the main dish was acceptable, the combination of poor service, unfriendly staff, and questionable policies made for an unpleasant dining...

Kenne das Gösser Eck schon lange und bin auch mit dem Familie befreundet! Normalerweise sind die Besuche im Gösser Eck OK, essen ist auch OK! Haben aber such schon mal ein Rohes Schnitzel bekommen… Aber naja, haben halt immer darüber hinweg gesehen…

Aber dieses Mal war alles anders:

Wir sind seit Juni 2023 in Kontakt mit dem Gösser Eck um einer 30er Feier zu planen! (Am 05.08.2023) Mit 50 Gästen, eine Mottoparty. Haben alles reserviert, besprochen und angezahlt. Schriftlich alles von dem Sohn vom Inhaber bestätigt bekommen.

Richtig Zeit genommen um alles zu besprechen wurde sich nie! Alles immer schnell, schnell, da so viel los ist!

Bei Schlechtwetter wurde mir auch bestätigt (schriftlich) , dass es kein Problem ist wenn wir drinnen feiern! ‼️ 5 Tage ‼️ vor der Feier genau am 01.08.2023 wurde mir einfach so abgesagt‼️ (Weil schlechtes Wetter) Angeblich reicht plötzlich die Kapazität nicht!!!

Nie eine ordentliche Entschuldigung bekommen oder eine Lösung Versuch zu finden!!

Haben uns die Anzahlung dann geholt, Inhaber war der ungut und arrogant! Als ich ihm dann erklärt habe, wer ich bin (Weil er auch immer vergisst wer die Leute sind oder zu wem sie gehörten) hat er nichts anderes als aber aber aber heraus gebracht!

Aber du hast nie eine schriftliche Bestätigung erhalten, dass ihr drinnen feiern könnt!

Aber so war das nie vereinbart.

Aber aber aber!!!

Als ich mich dann beschwert habe, nur patzige Antworten und asoziales Verhalten! Denken sie sind was besseres…

Somit Vorsicht!!! Wenn man so etwas bei jemanden abzieht den man kennt, fällt es einem noch leichter wenn man ihn nicht kennt!!!

Mich wird man dort nie wieder sehen!!! 🤮

Nachtrag: wie peinlich ist es, mich als Lügnerin dazustellen? Eine Entschuldigung wäre angebracht gewesen!! Leider kann ich hier keine Screenshot hinzu fügen… eines noch, KARMA wird es regeln!

Und falls ihr eine richtig tolle Party Location braucht! Diese war super und hat uns sofort alles sehr professionell gecheckt! Das Lokal...

We waited for 1 hour after we placed the order. We were not informed in advance that there is a single person in the kitchen, only after aprox. 40 minutes the waiter apologized that they have just a single person in the kitchen. He said he will give us at least 1 beer for free, but that did not happen. More than that i've asked for an extra small bag of ketchup which on the final bill was 1 euro, and of course not a single free beer.
