Excellent Food and Service, But a Serious Safety Concern We had a fantastic evening at The Living Kitchen, the rooftop restaurant and bar at Zoku Vienna. The food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails were inventive and well-made, and the service we received was truly top-notch. We initially chose to sit on the outdoor balcony to enjoy the views. It's a lovely space, but be aware that its proximity to the Prater amusement park means it can be quite noisy. As the evening went on, it also became rather chilly. We asked our server if we could possibly move to a table inside, and they were incredibly accommodating. The transition was seamless, and we were grateful for their flexibility. Throughout the meal, the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel extremely well looked after. Every dish that came out was a delight, and we thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere inside the restaurant. However, I have one major criticism that I feel compelled to share, as it concerns safety. The chairs on the outdoor decking area are not suitable for the flooring. The gaps between the wooden planks are wide enough for the thin chair legs to slip into. Unfortunately, this happened to me. My chair leg went down a gap, causing the chair to tip over, and I fell, hurting my knee in the process. While our overall experience was wonderful, this incident was upsetting and could have been much more serious. I strongly urge the management to replace the outdoor chairs with a style that has a wider base or feet that cannot get trapped in the decking. In summary, The Living Kitchen is a fantastic restaurant with a great team and delicious food. I would happily return, but I would not sit outside again until the seating is made safe for guests. Please fix this issue so that a wonderful dining experience isn't spoiled by an...
Read moreI came to Zoku for brunch with my friend. When we entered noone noticed us so I reached out to one of the staff and said hi and asked for table for 2 so they would know about our presence...We were told to sit wherever it was free. We sat down on the terrace. After 5 mins we came back inside to look for menu cards. After another 10 mins one of the staff carrying food thought it was for us. We kindly asked them to order and we were promised they would come back. Probably forgot. Another 5 minutes passed by when another staff was serving the table behind us. We asked again if we could order. We were asked if we had reservation with explanation that we are not able to have brunch there without reservation. When I said that noone asked us for reservation when we entered the staff went inside to check and came back so we were able to order our brunch finally after 20 mins. The restaurant was half empty... We asked for a sharing platter - Mezze platter, the staff confirmed that the size is perfect for 2 people. For 19 euros we got one pita bread cut in 4 pieces, 2 slices of halloumi cheese, a couple of olives, 4 cherry tomatoes, 2 peppers stuffed with fresh cheese, 4 slices of eggplant, 6 slices of cucumber and hummus. For 19 euros I expected some proper brunch not just snacks... View was quite nice but that was the only positive thing....
Read moreI was only in Vienna for a few days but having read about this place online it was top of my list for a visit. I went for lunch and got so much more than food. The lunch was excellent, so fresh and healthy, and served as a buffet so you can fill up for the rest of the day. The surroundings, the ambience, and the views are wonderful, a great deal of thought has been put into creating a welcoming space. But this is so much more than just a place to eat or drink, it provides a co-living, co-working space, and conference rooms for meetings. I didn't stay in the accommodation but it looks fabulous and if I am ever in Vienna again I will definitely aim to stay there. Jared, the community coordinator does an excellent job and if you are lucky enough to meet him you will be made most welcome and treated as a friend, not just a customer. I would loved to have been around for one of the communal dinners but instead Jared very graciously invited me to join him, his wife, and a few other travellers, for a visit to one of the Christmas markets. We had a great couple of hours together getting to know one-another. Whether you are an occasional traveller, or a nomad, you will not regret visiting this place and when you leave you may well discover that you are part of the Zoku family. Thank you...
